I'm not really your typical girl - I'm outgoing, love to laugh, but also love to listen to peoples stories, get passionate about educating myself on a topic, be silly (happy dances are common!), and love trying new places and new activities.
I love being a little bit of a punk rock hippie, eccentric bohemian girl on the inside but dressing as a classic pinup or in other vintage styles. I can go from very casual, to very refined.. but am always pretty relaxed! I'm curvaceous (working on getting in better shape at the moment!) and I celebrate the fact that beauty comes in many shapes 'n sizes.

My big hobby is bellydance. I've studied it for 8 years, and no longer perform or teach, but still have a huge passion for the music and the history.
I'm an art lover. I love film, local music, museums and exploring culture. My interests vary from day to day, but consistently come back to my love of the wilderness (I love camping, canoeing and hiking), of world history and anthropology (also historical reenactment/renaissance faires), biology and ecology, and literature.
I absolutely adore music (I also grew up playing the viola in an orchestra) and spend a good amount of time on Pandora discovering new music; the genres I enjoy are indie rock, rockabilly, punk (Brit punk especially), metal, classical, blues, and some electronic. I do watch television on occasion, but it's usually travel shows or geeky, or just humor like Robot Chicken. I'm a big reader. I also love to cook, but don't do it nearly enough!

I'm an animal lover. A good deal of my time is spent with them because of my profession. I'm an Animal Control Officer, and its a huge part of my life. It's extremely challenging, heart-warming, and also very sad at times. I'm constantly challenged by the job, and its made me a better, braver, and more compassionate person.


I'm in a bit of a transition point at the moment; I used to absolutely adore hanging out in smokey bars and drinking beers (love dark beer) with friends and strangers while trying to get to know as many people as possible, and now, I think I've become a little jaded to that 'scene'. I still enjoy going out, but prefer to do it on a more one on one basis. I'm really looking to get to know someone for who they are and build a relationship out of respect and friendship and genuine connection. I promise I'm one of the good girls. ;-)


Random quirky/interesting facts?: I used to do falconry (you know those shows at Grants Farm/Six Flags/Ren Faires/The Zoo about birds of prey -- oh yeah, I was that girl with the big eagle on her arm!

My favorite first dates have always been very focused on getting to know eachother.. whether it be out for coffee (which seems to be my favorite), or to drinks, or even just going for a walk in the park. Conversation is key! I'm an extremely open, passionate person who loves sharing experiences with others..
