About Me
Well lets see, "talk about your hobbies" ... hmmm ... lately I think that would probably be internet surfing - youtube is a lot of fun. That makes for a quiet night at home alone. ... hmmm, sorry - just put myself to sleep there LOL.
Music - now that's a good place to start ... I can go up and down the dial and find something I like on just about any station - except rap or hiphop. Other than that, I probably have something on either my CD rack or my I-Pod to fit any musical palette. If I had to narrow a favorite, well, I listen to mostly jazz, classic rock, and 80's.
Out on the town, while I don't enjoy the crowds of the clubs anymore - I do still enjoy listening to live bands in the right bar, i.e. Helen Fitzgerald's, House of Rock, The Phoenix. I prefer these evenings spent a) with the company of good friends b) laughing and talking, enjoying the company of a pretty woman - hopefully the majority of the evening spent on the dance floor.
Spending time with friends is a must. Lately, we've been spending a lot of entertaining nights at someone's apartment playing games or swimming. There have been a few trips to the karaoke bar. I enjoy karaoke, even bad karaoke - and "yes" after a few rounds of "liquid courage" I've been known to belt out a tune or two.
I'm looking forward to Sundays as football season approaches. I'm more of a fan of football from the couch than the dome. However, baseball and hockey, gotta be at Busch with a bag of peanuts and an over-priced beer or over at the Kiel. I'll admit, I don't know the first thing about hockey - but for some reason, I love going to games.
I love watching movies - either at the theatre, or cuddling on a cozy couch with a rental. I enjoy wandering Borders looking for just the right book and then heading to my favorite cafe to enjoy the first chapter or so and a coffee.
Recently, I bought a bicycle. I need the exercise, and supposedly this is a good way to do it. SO, after not being on a bike in more years than I care to mention - I decided it was a good idea to ride the bike home from the store, which was about a 2 mile ride. WOW! It IS great exercise, and I hurt in places I didn't know could hurt LOL. Suffice to say, I'm enjoying it - working on it - definitely NOT ready for the Katy Trail.
Goals & Aspirations ... I am an independent filmmaker and this is where I spend most of my energy. I have been working on my first feature length film for a while now. The goal is to see it finished, and shown in as many festivals as possible, aspiring to lead into a career. I have a business plan I am very much looking forward to putting out in the market. However, the economy being what it is, I don't think right now is the right time to be trying my hand at entrepeneurship. But, times will improve, they always do. And when they do, I will put the plan into action.
Of course, since I'm here my other goal is to find the right lady to share the adventure of life with. I'm interested in finding something long term. Dating is fine, and fun - as long as it looks like it is going somewhere. I've come very close to having a "happily ever after" twice. I want that and the whole shuh-bang - best friend and lover combined, someone to really build a happy life with love and laughter. I've worked hard to get to a place mentally and spiritually to be ready for love and happiness again. Now I'm here, so no more wasting time.
First Date
Everyone puts so much pressure and importance on the first date. It's funny really. I don't have a standard answer for this, every lady is different and unique (at least the ones I'm interested in) so there is no definite answer. I think the dinner and movie is boring. I'd like to find out who you are and what we like to do. As long as our first date is fun and relaxed and we get the chance to talk and connect, that's the important thing.
