I'm a native New Yorker who likes to meet new people, but was short on ideas of how to do so besides the bar/club scene - thus the profile. And of course, because PoF is free. I suppose like most, I'm wary of doing the online thing, but I think of this site merely as a virtual bar, where everybody is single and open to meeting new people. When you think of it that way, this all becomes less sketchy, and is just a means to make an introduction.

That being said - here are some not-so-random things about me!

I'm well-read, pretty sophisticated, and very knowledgeable on music and movies (all genres). Let me also add that I can be somewhat goofy at times, specifically around people I really like and trust. I have hoop dreams of getting a Master's Degree some day, but until then, I'm grinding it out 9-6 in the city and putting everything towards my goal. I'm very proud of what I've accomplished for myself so far, specifically in the last 2 years. I like playing and watching baseball, and I love handball (I'm actually pretty good!), but more than anything I like being outside in beautiful weather. I don't really like running as a sport in and of itself, but if it's part of a game, I'm down. I tend to workout a lot too, but at home. I'm a bit of a classic rock buff, but... I'll be honest - my guilty pleasure is today's new music. I'm probably one of the best city-walkers in existence, meaning that I blow past slow people and tourists on the street lol, and get through crowds with relative ease. I was most likely a running back in a former life. However, I do like to take it slow in parks and more private places, so you can't accuse me of not stopping to smell the roses!

I tend to go for women who are similar to myself. Smart, funny, and laid back girls who enjoy good conversation and good times. Maybe a student or young professional too. I'm always up for dinner and drinks after work and on weekends, but surprise me with a new idea for a change. Variety is the spice of life, after all. I also love to bowl and see concerts, so maybe one of those two instead?

In short, I'm a pretty happy, easy-going guy who can't wait to see who else is out there fishing. Feel free to drop me a line! Ughh, even I just cringed at those two fish jokes.

I'd be up for almost anything in terms of a first date in either Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn. I know a bunch of unknown gems in the first two areas, but mainstream is cool with me too. I'm just starting to learn Brooklyn now that I have moved here. I'm also always open to your suggestions and to trying new places. I think comfort is key, and as long as we're both relaxed, I'm sure everything will unfold nicely from there.
