I'm now living at my house in Sunrise Beach on Lake LBJ and commuting in to Austin. It is about the same distance from here to San Antonio which is convenient if I have to go there. As a daily commute it's a little long but I am also commuting into Houston and staying there couple of days a week for work. I hope to get things settled back down so I can stay at the lake. We'll see how that works.

I have done a lot of different things in my life and have many more things that I would like to do. I started thinking about it and realized I've been incredibly lucky to have had so many opportunities. Still, the thing I want most in life is someone to share doing those things with. Any achievement or good fortune is not so much fun if no one is there to see it.

I am a calm and easygoing person, but ambitious and goal oriented at the same time. I have accomplished many of the goals I set for myself and am ready for some new adventures with my new "best friend". I believe you have to take some risks to accomplish good things, unfortunately life isn't always "easy" with that approach. Travel seems to be unavoidable although not constant any more. I would love to have someone to come along with me on business or some pleasure trips and use the millions of frequent flyer miles I've accumulated. A few years ago I started my own semiconductor startup and we created some new 'change the world' technology. I recently started a new venture, a sports marketing company with an emphasis on youth sports. It puts a lot of demands on me but I am very committed to balance in my life and my relationships are very important to me. I have two daughters, one just starting college and one just graduated. I try to make sure I spend time with them even though they are not living with me.

I am a very supportive and positive person, and my success so far has been because I motivate and encourage. I am also very attentive in my relationships, I may have to be away, but you will know I am thinking about you.

I like lots of activities but don't have enough time to do them all. One quote I like is "bite off more than you can chew, then chew it". I like to build things and always have a project. I own a sports business, and while I like to play sports I'm not a "FAN" or very interested in watching on tv, particularly if I don't play that sport. Although live events for the fun of getting out are cool. I like to play golf, volleyball, basketball, softball.

Love the beach, boating, and snow skiing (try to go once a year). I like cars and flying (I don't fly often enough, hope you aren't afraid of small planes but I won't make you fly if you are). A friend and I owned a couple of race cars a while back and I love to go fast in anything. I like to learn, read a lot of non-fiction (because when I read fiction I can't put the book down and stay up all night.) Music is a hobby and I play guitar but always like to see someone really good play.

Volunteering at church is something I like to do because if you are going to go you ought to be involved. I like working with teens (probably because I still am one at heart though I have much more sense than I did) and used to do that at church but my business gives me plenty of opportunities there. I love coffee, chocolate, wine and all the great one-of-a-kind restaurants here in Austin.

I would love to share any of these interests with my future partner and am interested in learning to share yours. I like to learn new things and can be taught! I would enjoy learning from you.

There is a difference between first date and first meeting. First meeting is someplace casual, maybe coffee, glass of wine, where you can talk and get to know each other a little.
First date is a night out and hopefully I will know enough about you to figure out what will be fun and memorable for both of us. (And you will be stuck with me for several hours so hopefully you will have an idea of what you are getting into ;-)
