I moved here 4 years ago from the east coast and love Chicagoland! I like trying and learning new things, seeing different local sites, checking out different restaurants, and meeting new people. I am fine with being friends first...I have made great friends that way and you can never have enough true friends. Ideally, I want something that could develop into a serious relationship - I am not a serial dater or player.

Once I open up I can be very funny - but I am definitely a person that is better one on one, or with a small group of close friends, than with crowds. I love movies - but I like comedies with smart dialogue, not so much the stupid stuff that claims to be 'laugh out loud hilarious!' I enjoy mostly rock music...and also like most genres with the exception of rap and country...and not all of that is bad either.

Honesty is very important to me...once lies begin, you don't know where they end. Plus, in my case, I feel it takes too much energy to remember all the junk you had to make up rather than just telling the truth! I am very versatile - I have a mix of creative and technical skills which tie directly to my personality. On the one hand I can be serious, responsible, and analytical, on the other I am a boyish goofball....but I mean this in a cool way, not in a "needs to be institutionalized" way. =) For example, while I am a responsible hard working professional - I still like comic books, cartoons, and catching snowflakes on my tongue!

Though I may look average - I do have a lot going for me. I have a career as a product and marketing designer/manager, I have 3 degrees, I have my own place, and I am relatively baggage and drama free! I have never been married and have no children - though I am open to both.

Sometimes I see people put in their profiles what they WANT and not what they have to OFFER. I admit I want a woman that is attractive, has warmth, compassion, intelligence, and is very down to earth...ahem...frisky and feisty would be welcome as well. In return I try to always be there if needed (I know you independent gals don't NEED anyone...but it's nice to know he'll be there if at some point you do, right?), supportive, a good listener - and having a design background means I can go shopping for much longer periods of time than the average male - and I am a decent judge of what looks good! Of course, it helps if the store has a chair to sit in and hold all the bags while you shop, try on, shop, try on, etc...I mean, work with me here - okay?

That depends on mutual interests. A first meeting can be as simple as meeting for drinks or dinner...but could involve seeing the sites and museums downtown as I love exploring Chicago and hope you do too! The most important thing, is that it allows us a chance to really talk.
