**I'm not looking for a fling or one-nights stands.

What I'm looking for:
I like a guy who is put together and has some style but personality is my main concern. I'm looking for a companion with whom I can spend time and hopefully it'll last. Mostly I just want a guy who knows what he wants out of life and shows maturity and wisdom not only in his words but also his actions.
I like soft-spoken, respectable gentlemen capable of intelligent conversation. However, I'm not too big into romance. I don't like too much attention, so being surprised, or any bold displays of affection usually just make me uncomfortable.

Backwards baseball caps and messages with "u" for "you" etc are a bit of a turn off for me. Same goes for spelling. The site even checks spelling, so to me it just seems lazy. I won't respond to messages like: "yo gurl, wassup?". I'm attracted to guys with class.

About me:
I'm pretty quiet and calm but I'm assertive when I need to be. I can be silly at times.
I love listening to music and I play a bit myself. I read often and I enjoy the occasional movie night. I'm currently studying languages and hope to study and work in Japan some time in the future.

I'm pretty forgiving of most things so long as you're honest from the beginning.
I'm not high maintenance, but I put some effort into my appearance and I like things tidy and clean in my living space. I don't expect a guy to pay for me, but I like to be treated on special occasions. Though usually, I prefer to receive things that took some effort. Like a box of cookies baked from scratch or a song (if you're musically inclined) or even just remembering some obscure detail from a past conversation of ours.
I've recently been learning to cook (Japanese and Indian are my favorite). I don't like to go out to eat too often.
I like pumpkins. I think they're cute.
I like white Christmas lights and fluffy snow. I don't like the giant scary-looking Christmas ornaments though.
I LOVE TO TRAVEL. Whether that means relaxing at a beach resort or backpacking around Europe. I want an exciting job that will take me all over.
I already mentioned it, but I adore music. I tend towards the stuff not heard on the radio (mainstream) and I really don't care for country or rap/hip hop. My favorite bands are listed in my interests but I'll always give something a chance.

I like pets and I have a couple cats, a dog, and some fish at home.

I'm not especially picky... I probably wouldn't enjoy going to the bar or any place noisy and crowded. I like just going for coffee or to a show. I enjoy the symphony and ballet as well as the average movie. Walks are nice (you know, when it isn't -40).
