I'm not looking for anything serious, although I'm not opposed to it -with the right person. I always seem to find things when I'm not looking for them.
I'm not a player, partier, drinker or drug user so you'll not find me at the bars or Nascar. You're more likely to run into me cycling at White Rock, trying new food at an International Festival or having coffee or dinner with close friends. Quiet and intimate is always better than loud and crowded.
Family is important to me and not just my kids- my relationships with all my family even the ex and ex-in laws. My kids are the world to me, that goes without saying. Any parent should be willing to sacrifice his/her own comfort and fun(if not much more) for their kids. There is no job or role more sacred than "parent". If you are a parent, I'll make every accommodation in the interest of your kids, I hope you'll do the same for mine.
I'll bluff at the poker table, and play hardball on a real estate deal, but I won't lie to my friends, family. I have nothing to hide. My past isn't spotless(who's is?). I could never be president, but I'll talk about anything you want and it will always be the truth. I don't behave in a manner that requires lies to cover my actions. I can work around a lot of things, but I won't tolerate a person in my life with integrity issues.
I love my work and have a good balance in my life. I'm an accomplished, confident mature adult looking for the same. Age doesn't matter, attitude and values are key to getting my interest, respect and affection.
I spend a lot of time working with people in need. I've been so fortunate and feel strongly about charity and reaching out a helping hand. There is no better feeling that seeing someone you've helped rebuild and recreate their life. A perfect first date would involve grabbing an angel or ten from the tree in the mall and shopping for kids that haven't had the abundance I've so freely enjoyed.
My ideal person, like me, would be genuinely happy and independent already. She would be honest, warm, friendly, intelligent, beautiful, adventurous and able to find the positive and humor in all things. Its not necessary to be exactly alike or have all the same interests. I want someone that can open my eyes and mind to a different perspective once in a while. That can only happen when two people have independent thoughts, passion and a mutual respect for an opposing view. That's what excites me.
