Although I've put down 'Long Term',one has to do the 'Dating' bit first to find compatibility but really 'Dating with view to Long Term' (hopefully)as I don't like those constant 'guy changes' type of relationship! Would really like to meet 'that special man' who I only want to be with!
I enjoy many activities, country walks & country pub lunches, eating out/in, museums, old ruins (but not in my men please) historical things of interest (love to be an archaeologist but would need to find a body or Roman coin in the first couple of hours), live bands, theatre, concerts, swimming, holidays, sun, sea, sand or anything else you can think of. A great day would be one filled with laughs & stimulating conversation in equal measure. I have an enquiring mind and think anything learnt is useful. Although I love a laugh I also have a serious and thoughtful side and enjoy a good debate in a conversation. I feel I can relate to those younger than myself by having a young disposition.
Dancing is a great love of mine and especially the swing/jive which is numero uno in dance fashion it appears now. I'm trying to get my head around Lindy Hop but need to get those jive swing steps perfected first before taking on the 'big one'. Glen Miller and the Big Band sounds are what I love plus jive - dancing keeps the weight down and is such a good fun way of exercising - beats the gym any day! If I could get a lead dance partner out of this would be just great but a partner in ‘crime’ would do if not. Hey ho, maybe I am asking for too much here?! I am into all rock, also heavy rock - Queen, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Jon Bon Jovi - that type of thing - many rock groups of the 80's, but also love the beautiful voice of Enya.
Listen a lot to Radio 4 and their informative programs, Watch Channel 4 mostly on TV with their educational documentaries. Like thrillers, historical murders - learning all about how these notorious people tick (no Eastenders for me).
Love action packed weekends, air shows, Red Bull Air Race - so exciting, stock car racing, any fast, fun mechanics. Cosy log fired country pub restaurants for Sunday roast, then back to yours or mine or for me to show you my culinary skills, then relaxing for a cosy, cuddled up ‘together’ afternoon.

As far as my type of man goes - I am after a man with a good sense of humour which is ABSOLUTELY essential and will win me over initially so having laughs all the way is a number one thing and lightens the mood but also someone who can hold an intelligent, serious conversation as well. The man I would like to meet (and I mean 'meet') will be a genuinely single man committed to wanting a relationship, not just a ‘chatting on-line' one! Someone who likes to do things the ‘old fashioned’ way by going out together, enjoying each other’s company face to face and who is not into a ‘cyber’ relationship or playing ‘mind games’. A normal, decent looking guy who would like to take out a lady wanting to make an effort to look his best for a lady who wants to do the same for her man and who will dedicate some quality time to seeing her, not finding distance a problem if she is worth it. You should be over 5ft 8" preferably and have a good head of hair (don't worry if you haven't though - only a preference) and like to dress smartly to compliment me for a good evening out. I hope you enjoy live bands, shows and theatre although I am not so into cinema really. Love walks in the countryside with the pub lunch at the end and just socialising, chatting and laughing all the way. A bubbly person like me would be good so we can bounce off each other. A man that enjoys a dance would be a dream although I know a lot of you guys don't really take to it. Just someone who 'gels' and we get that instant rapport between us is the main thing so we can have fun times together.

As a first date, perhaps a Latte or Cappucino would be nice for a kick off or, perhaps a drink in a pub or a chat over lunch, just to see if we are compatible - however the mood takes us. In those cold winter months perhaps a meal in some coal fired country pub or in summer perhaps just a walk along the sea front then pop in the nearest bar to quench our thirst, or a meal in the Marina - whatever we think would be good.
