Obviously, I have heard women say that, “There are no good men out there.” That’s not entirely true (although I can certainly see where that statement comes from. . .). I am out there! It is, however, a little frustrating, knowing that there are so many great women out there thinking that, and I just don’t know how to find them and meet them!! Maybe this is the way. . . We’ll find out. . .

I know a date doesn’t typically come with a list of references, but pretty much every woman I know; friends, family, co-workers, etc., will tell you that I am a great “catch.” (And, obviously, I’m not lacking in the self-esteem department. . .) Stable, great (and dry) sense of humor, incredible father, and very smart, yet social, are some of the adjectives you would probably get from the references on my “dating resume.”

I have been single for a few years, and I have casually dated a few people (as my friends were very eager to set me up), but I clearly need to expand the pool beyond “friends of friends.” And since the thought of trying to meet women in bars, or in the grocery store for that matter, is totally intimidating, I am trying this. . .

I am a bit of a romantic, and maybe I have seen too many Meg Ryan movies. . . but I will know when I really find someone special. There’s no doubt in my mind. Maybe I will find her tomorrow, or maybe it will take a few years. . . I have no idea!!

I have two great kids, age 10 and 14, for whom I am the primary parent. But I can be available pretty much any Friday or Saturday night, so that will help with the dating!!

I don’t really have a definition of what the perfect woman for me is, but, I think will know her when I find her. “Charming” is the best description I can come up with, though. Also smart, witty and cute.

If you get to know me, you absolutely will not regret it (again. . .apparently I’m not lacking in self-esteem. . .). I truly am a great guy. And if you’re “Charming,” I seriously look forward to getting to know you.

There is a soundtrack to my life, that goes from Led Zepplin to Van Halen to RUN-DMC to U2 to Guns & Roses to Dr. Dre to Lenny Kravitz to the White Stripes, with a lot of great tunes in between. I am a HUGE Beatles fan. And, despite my affection for Rock (and a little bit of Rap. . . Don‘t judge me!), I think that “Time to Say Goodbye” by Sarah Brightman and “I Believe in Love” by the Dixie Chicks are two of the greatest songs ever recorded.

Two of my favorite movies are “The Big Chill” and “American Beauty.” “Seinfeld” is the best show ever, but I am currently into “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “Lost”, “Entourage” and “Rescue Me.”

I LOVE to read. A few years ago, after reading “The DaVinci Code”, I totally got into it. These days, I just can’t read enough!! Nothing heavy, pretty much all fiction; mostly Grisham, Creighton, Brown, Picoult. . . What I would call “Airport Paperbacks.” But, I would have to say my favorite book is “A Separate Peace” by John Knowles. Although, “Kite Runner” is up there. I just finished all the Twilight books, too(again... don't judge!!! They were actually really good!!).

As far as dates go, if you’re with the right person, you can have a wonderful and memorable time, anywhere and anytime. What I like to do most on a date, however, is just go to a nice, quiet, romantic restaurant or bar, and just talk. I really look forward to just sitting, talking, and getting to know you. I thoroughly enjoy a good conversation.
