My interests are varied and change from time to time. I always enjoy reading, writing (mostly unpublished short fiction), music (from old punk to trip-hop to Brit-pop to power-pop to mod to classic rock to "indie" to apocalyptic folk to hip-hop to dub to old school ska to protest songs to psychobilly to 80's obscurities to ..well, you get the idea), foreign and indie films, English Premiership Footy (soccer), amateur photography, computers (although this is more job related than a hobby), fashion/design/marketing, sociology (mainly in subculture and counterculture areas), international political history, currently learning yoga, walking my dog or taking her to the beach (all the time). I have some artistic streaks - painting, sketching & photography, although my skills are nothing to write home about - with the possible exception of photography. I pick up and discard interests quite often, which I'm told is a common Scorpio trait, if you believe in that whoo-haw. I have many goals and aspirations, which tend to change from time to time (or when I've accomplished it.) Currently in the process of recertification for Emergency Medical Tech working toward EMT-Paramedic level. If you want more details, just ask. What makes me unique? Hmm...Selling myself is not one of my finer points, but I don't think that makes me unique. I suppose that I have lived (past tense) a VERY different and unique life so far. Not all good, not all bad. But I am definitely at a point in my life where I am done with learning things the hard way. I have a wide variety interests & "hobbies." I am fairly well read on many subjects; I have traveled a bit (mostly Western Europe) and have an appreciation of other cultures and customs. I am perfectly happy on my own, so I am certainly not possessive, needy or clingy. I am not one to deal cheating or one to cheat myself (especially when involved in a relationship). I'm not the type of person always looking for something more (grass is always greener syndrome) and am quite comfortable being in a committed relationship. At the same time, I am not looking to jump into something just because it is there. I would rather be single than to settle and be unhappy. I don't really care how your hair is or the color or eye color, height, age (within reason), tattoos or not (although I do find tattooed women attractive), nationality, religion or lack thereof, etc. But please...please - have some level of intelligence - be it book smart or life smart, autodidact or professional student, just please don't be ignorant. I also like a women who has her own style, something unique. I often prefer dark hair, sometimes short hair, I like quirks and flaws. I like foreign accents, but not so much on regional american accents. I have a lot of visible tattoos, so please be okay with that (although they can be covered up when needed with a long sleeve shirt). I guess that's probably more than enough for now, if there was a possibility that I missed something - though I doubt it - feel free to ask. I'm looking to meet someone who is over the whole 'party every night' scene, aka - little Ms. Social Butterfly. If you don't have the time to get to know me, then don't bother. I can be a bit of a home-body at times, but can change that easily if I had a reason to go out. I'm not big on watching sports, at least on TV. I love to watch movies though. I like to get away for the weekend often and do something fun. I'd really like to make a good friend with the possibility of a relationship in the future. I am a one woman kind of man. I'm caring, friendly, generous, know how to treat a person properly, I'm often told I have a great sense of humor (sometimes it can be a little on the dark side), I usually remain friends with an ex (though they are all out of state now). I just miss having a best friend, someone to get out and do things with or to just stay in and be lazy with. Someone to talk to and spend time with. Someone to care about, I suppose. I just don't have the opportunity to meet people often, so I thought I'd give this a shot. I'm trying to quit smoking, so don't let that put you off. Otherwise, I'm probably not going to change very much from who I am.

Wow, I suppose it depends on what we both enjoy. Some coffee to start. An aimless drive somewhere scenic and then a walk. A picnic? A gallery? A used bookshop? Critiquing prostitutes on El Cajon Blvd? A Merry-Go-Round ride? The Farmers market in OB or Hillcrest? I'm certainly open to suggestions. I've never been much of a dating type person and I'm not from San Diego, so I'm all ears.
