I have so many sides to me that it’s hard to write it all down. I’m a huge nerd. I like to think that I can fit in anywhere, and get along with anyone. I’m down with anything listen-able. Anything that can get my head bobbing like old school, funk, soul, and rock. I’m a part time super hero, full time dork, an eccentric weekend alcoholic, hopeless romantic, a day dreamer, and all around friendly guy.


MY HOBBIES

I tend to get into the more nerdy hobbies. I try to keep it down to a minimum but sometimes the inner geek just has to let loose. It's all tame I swear. Just the normal stuff like video games, geeky movies, and an occasional comic book or two.

I really like music. I've played guitar since I was in high school. I'd like to think I'm good enough on the bass and drums that I could start my own one man band.

I like drawing, painting, anything artistic in general. I'm trying to do more artistic things for myself instead of just for work

Thanks to Netflix I get my fare share of movie watching done at home. I tend to lean more towards the foreign flicks, documentaries, and what most would consider "artsy fartsy" films that you may not find in theatres. I'm in love with Amelie... If you are anything like her I am yours.

I'm not even going to go over all the TV shows they have on there. Lets just say I've recently fallen in love with Weeds and Dexter. I also never get tired of Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, Firefly (nerd), Chuck, and 30 Rock. I'm also in love with Tina Fey... Again if you are anything like her then "I want to go to there".

I love finding new places to eat. The more hole in the wall it is the better. I'm not the type of guy who's too scared to try new things. Everything is worth trying at least once.

GOALS / ASPIRATIONS

Like anyone else out there I'd like to move up in my profession. I don't necessarily need to be rich. Just comfortable enough to afford to live, and have enough money left over to travel and purchase ridiculous impulse items.

I'd love to be respected in my industry. Get my work in magazines (which has happend once already!), get recognized by my fellow colleagues to be one of the more talented people in the industry. All that leading to eventually having my own quirky little design studio. I can see it now, a studio in in an industrial part of town, exposed brick interior, a cool break room with a mini arcade. Hell I'll even let my employees bring their dogs to work.

Thanks to a biggest loser contest at work I've recently been hitting the gym and trying to eat better. It's worked pretty awesome so far (yay lost 20 lbs!) and it gets me pumped to do more outdoor activities. I'd love to go kayaking or white water rafting. I'll need to eventually try snowboarding and skiing too. Anything to continue the progress.

WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE

This is a tough one. I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to things that define me, but here are some of the little things that I find quirky about myself:

I'm a huge packrat. I collect little things like cool looking postcards, posters, and stickers. All of which end up decorating the walls of my room eventually.

I'm a bit of a shoe hoe... But not the type that goes off and buys really expensive one of a kind boutique shoes. I love my cheap pairs of chucks and I don't think I could ever give them up!

I have this weird obsession with ties and dress socks... I know, it's weird. It's not like anyone is going to notice the really cool argyle patterns on my socks.

I can solve a rubix cube in under 5 minutes. Not too useful of a skill, but it's a neat party trick.

That's really all I can think of for now. You'll have to just meet and get to know me to find out all the other things that make me unique.

MY TASTE IN MUSIC

This is always changing. It really depends on my mood. There may be some types of music that I don't listen to (sorry country music...) but I will still respect it (hello Johnny Cash). I've always had a thing for funk. When I was younger I was into all the SoCal punk and ska stuff (Green Day, Sublime, Rancid). When I moved to Texas I started appreciating more of the classic oldies and blues (I love Stevie Ray Vaughn)and while I was in college I got to appreciate jazz.

Now I know this profile is probably way too long, but it's definitely worth the read. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people!
