About Me
Life is pretty good these days, and there have been a number of major changes over the past couple years. I’m studying an MBA program at McMaster University, part time. I’ve also recently moved into an apartment and am working through the experiment of living on my own. I’d like to think it’s been pretty successful so far (although I could probably vacuum a bit more often). Meanwhile, I continue to work in the Health Care Industry, as a project lead in a health administration office.
I’ve got a pretty solid foundation with my family and friends, and I try to find a good balance between going out, getting work done, and finding time to relax. I also really enjoy the work that I do, which makes it a lot easier to get out of bed in the morning (even if I hate waking up at 7:30 – which I do).
Over the past couple years I’ve managed to take some really amazing trips; one to Hong Kong and Thailand with a friend from school, and one to London, England with my family. I can’t think of a better way to spend my paycheck than travelling, and I will always make room in my budget and schedule to make it happen. I have so many places still on my list: Europe, Australia, Japan, all across Canada, etc… I think this may be an addiction, but as far as addictions go, I could do a lot worse.
Recently, I’ve been working on expanding my horizons in everyday life: exploring small towns nearby, listening to albums I’ve never considered before, trying out new recipes to make for dinner (though spaghetti will always be a “top 10” meal). As a result, I will generally be up for just about anything, and I’m looking for someone who can keep challenging me to go further.
I love hanging out with people who understand the value of a good conversation. No topic is too big or too small. I’d be happy to discuss ideas on the origin of the universe, or which chocolate bar is best, and why (the answer is “Caramilk”, by the way). I also like being around people with a great sense of humour, and who aren’t afraid to use sarcasm to maximum effect. I think my humor can be a little bizarre, but it comes in handy in many situations. I hope to find someone who can appreciate someone who will give a seven-minute presentation about a zombie invasion to his colleagues at work (it only happened once, but it DID happen). I try not to take things in life too seriously, and usually try to find something funny in most situations.
I’m looking for someone I can connect with, and be myself with. Someone who likes to think about issues outside of daily life. Someone nice, but also willing to call me an idiot if I ever do something dumb (I'll admit, it happens occasionally). Someone who understands why it’s important to treat others well, and that being happy is the most important thing in life.
I always feel really awkward writing things like this, but if anything stood out feel free to send me a message.
Have a great day!
First Date
I would think of a first date through something like this to be mostly a meet and greet. As far as what to do, the sky is pretty much the limit. It completely depends on the time of year and the personalities involved, but I always enjoy some friendly competition with a healthy dose of good-natured trash-talk!
