I just want to relax and have a good time. I moved out here from the mid-west nearly two years ago. I am an assistant organizer for a few of the meetup.com groups and I like to attend the costume parties and a variety of activities. Along with the facebook outings I keep up with having an active social life but I don't have the strong friendships I had in Illinois.

I would like to meet someone who enjoys going out to movies, singing away at karaoke, bowling until the arms grow tired. Someone who can appreciate the Rocky Horror Picture Show as an excursion of fun. Life is about experiences and those should be shared with the ones we care for.

I have a deep philosophical bent and I need someone who also views the world with conflicting emotions. I don't usually have a simple answer. I can see many sides to the same question being asked. Life isn't easy and neither are the notions of what motivates us and what fulfills us. Don't get me wrong, I am usually smiling and joking, it's just that below the surface resides an artist who is troubled by a beautiful world.

Summary
I am very direct person, I make eye contact with whoever I am speaking to. I always try to elevate the mood with humor or by starting off a conversation. I get told I wear my heart on my sleeve, but nice guys like me just can't help it. I am a man of my word and I am thoughtful and generous. I will not lower my standards for anyone and I do the right thing even when it is hard.

Family
Family is important to me and I call my mother at least twice a week to say hello and keep in touch with things going on back home. I am the favorite uncle of six young boys whom I helped to raise. I am perfectly fine dating a woman that has children. I understand what that entails and how to interact and be supportive.

Hobbies
I am a a lyricist and a singer. I have written several dozen songs and hopefully this will lead to at least one album getting produced if even only locally. I am a Poet and I have written over a hundred poems. Most are from my younger years and they speak of confusion and hurt. A state of mind I have long since recovered from. I am a writer and have the full intent of having a series of novels published. This is a trait I share with several family members who themselves are already published.

Employment
I am a full time computer workstation administrator. I provide support to laser scientists and engineers. I work for a great company and I have a lot of opportunities. At some point I will start my own business and really put myself to a test.

Dinner at a nice Italian restaurant, followed by a few drinks, leading up to some refreshing comedians at a local comedy club. Topping the night off would be at a venue with some live music and maybe some dancing.
