| | I am french, although filling this out in english - I am bilingual and can also somewhat speak or understand a few other languages.
I have been working quite hard in the past few years. For being so sollicitated with my work and new responsibilities, I have slightly fallen out of socializing and I am now finding myself hoping to meet new friends and eventually finding a mate.
I am somewhat intellectual: I like to think, discuss a great variety of subjects, am very open-minded and have a very good capacity to listen and to understand others.
I am also physically active : I enjoy some sports, mainly outdoor activities such as swimming (long distances) and hiking. I am rather athletic physically - although I have put on a few extra pounds in recent years. I really believe in the motto "Mens sana in corpore sano" (or "a healthy mind in a healthy body").
I also enjoy my own solitude at times, and it is quite necessary for me to have some time to myself, although I sure would enjoy more company than I do have at this point in my life.
When my work was giving me more opportunity to do so, I would enjoy going out to see a good movie, classical theater or music concert. I love all kinds of music, mainly jazz, classical and poets-songwriters. I also enjoy the music of my youth, sixties and seventies, mainly folk and some good rock music of that time.
I also do a lot of classical litterature reading during my summer holidays.
My goal in life at this point is to try to work a little less and to find more time to enjoy myself and to make friends. Sharing my life with someone special has always been a hope, although I have spent many years alone and am self-sufficient enough to continue doing so, if life does not bring about the right person. I would also love to travel again, another activity which I have had to leave aside for a while.

On a first "date", I would simply go out for a tea or coffee or for a short meal and have an extensive conversation, in order for us to see if we wish to meet again and if we have as much in common as we wished or thought. A few email exchanges and at least one telephone conversation should precede a first "date". |
