I am a divorced mother of a 19 year-old son who will be attending college in the fall. He is independent, but we still have a wonderful relationship. We are HUGE hockey fans and attend games as often as possible. We also love dog sledding and you'll find us out in the snow often (although, not lately)! I am a middle school science teacher and currently enrolled in graduate school with the intention of acquiring certification as a school psychologist. I have also applied to participate a 'Teacher on the Trail' for the 2010 Iditarod. Outdoors is my favorite place whether in the snow or on/in the water. I love adventure and would be be willing to try just about anything. I'm not afraid to get dirty or wet!! But don't get me wrong...although I'm not a high maintenance Barbie Doll...(I actually leave the house with my hair still wet), I love being a girl and I'm pretty good at it...and you don't have to wait for hours! Although my life is busy and active, I appreciate quiet times as well. There is nothing better than cuddling on the couch (and mine is soooooo comfy!) watching a movie with someone special. And if it's scary...watch out...because I'll be hanging on to you!! I am very easy to talk to, and enjoy long conversations. I know how to listen and hear what you are saying. You will find me to be empathetic, caring, supportive, and sincere. I am flexible in my thinking and always willing to learn from others. I love my life and am not looking for someone out of NEED. If the right person comes along, it would be a wonderful addition to my life. Multiple dating is not something that interests me. I can only focus on one at a time. Monogamy is the only thing that will work for me. I am not interested in being a play-thing on the side, so if you're married or attached, I respectfully decline. I really look forward to being in love again with the right person.
You should be easy-going and not demanding. But you kow what you want and you're ready for it. A love of children and animals is a must! You must LOVE dogs, as we have a Yorkshire Terrier and two Siberian Huskies. If you know anything about the breed, then you'll be able to handle crazy husky love!! This is a package deal and none of the above items are negotiable. If you're afraid of shedding dog hair, then I'm not the one for you! And don't worry too much about the dog hair...vacuuming is easy and I've got it down to a daily routine!! You may also notice that I have alot of pets listed, but don't be nervous because remember, I am a science teacher and the small creatures (lizards, hamsters, rabbits) all reside in my classroom and only come home for breaks. My schedule can at times be somewhat hectic, so patience is important. My son is the priority in my life, but I will find and make time for you, and will put forth extreme effort in a relationship. I understand the need for personal space and I will respect yours. I'm not demanding or pushy. I do however, expect honesty and sincerity. Game-playing is boring and not an option - PLEASE know what you want before starting anything. You should be interested and ready for a grown-up, real relationship! If you have children, I'm very good at relating to them without being over-bearing or invasive. I understand the complexities of the fragmented family and how it affects children. You should know something about romance and I absolutely love kissing- so you should too!!! And- enjoy having fun-it's important to be able to laugh. I would prefer someone who is happy with himself and is not burdened with too much excess emotional baggage. We all have some, but it's better if it's neatly folded and put away! If you're still angry with your ex- please keep looking! And PLEASE have a picture. It may sound shallow- but chemistry is kinda important! Don't you agree? ;) Also, local is the only way to go...the long distance thing just doesn't work for me!
