I am never good at writing these profiles, since I tend to slip into self-parody, stiffness, or just plain silliness. But anyhoo, here's to the old college try.

I'm a returning student -- spent a few years trying to be a writer and director, but I never meshed real well that lifestyle, though I like to think I've kept my creative side alive. Right now I'm in the homestretch of law school, less than a year out from taking the bar exam. I'm a little older than most of my classmates, but they don't make fun of me for it ... much. My focus is on criminal law, and I'm hoping to work for the DA when I graduate. And yes, law school attracts more than its share of appalling blowhards ... but I'm not one of them. Not much, anyway.

I'm pretty fond of both high and low culture. I can see a matinee at the Met, then catch "The Hangover" at a midnight show. I'm a dillettante when it comes to music, listening to stuff I like but knowing very little about it. But I'm always willing to learn, so feel free to show off if you know more than I do ... which you probably will. Same goes for art.

I won't deny I have a peculiar sense of humor. People love it or hate it. I can only hope the love outweighs the hate.

It's New York! The world is our oyster. I think I'd start with a ride up to Fort Tryon Park, a stroll around The Cloisters, and end the evening in a Greenwich Village cafe, with a walk around the city wherever our whims might take us. I don't like to overplan.
