After 8 years of marriage I decided it would be best to take a year off of dating to find myself so you would think an about me section would be a synch! The year after that I hit the typical hang outs and was unable to find that perfect match. At the encouragement of many of my friends I find myself here. Ladies I am new at this and not sure what the best way of going about this is, so feel free to drop any pointers and hellos. Until then it is so nice to meet you all, and cheers.

I have two young children and continue a good relationship with their mother. It turns out we make better friends then spouses. If you’re still good to this point then read on for more of me.

I live in the city but if I had it my way I would live in a hobbit house some where deep in the woods with a little creek trickling near by. I don't like shoes and like the feel of earth on my feet. My favorite times of the year are spring and fall, I enjoy them both the same. I sleep best to thunderstorms and often get lost in a star and moon filled night wondering about what ifs. Cats over dogs, but maybe a small dog…

What am I looking for? Dating for now that hopefully will lead to happiness long term. Love, Romance, the feeling of oneness with someone else.

Art
I have been into art as far back I remember. I went to college for graphic arts for awhile and left to find a job so I could pay for college, many years later I realized I never went back and cant remember why. Some of my favorite artist are William Adolphe Bouguereau, Frank Franzetta, Pierre-Auguste Cot, and Brian Froud. But it is not limited to these.

I picked up sculpting a few years back and found a knack for it. I’ll keep at it and one day I hope to have pieces people cherish around the world, something like scott radke

Music
Music is so very cathartic; you can find a tune for any mood. I listen to all kinds of music from Enya to Disturbed, but I am not fond of the “poor me” country music. My favorite group currently is The Dresden dolls, a kind of punk cabaret band.

Sports
I’m not into sports so much as I would rather play the game then watch someone else having all the fun. I am not big on hunting and fishing unless It serves a purpose other then just “sport”

Food and drink
I’m a sucker for sushi and crab Rangoon. I tend to eat foods as close to their natural state as possible. If I can’t find it on the outside ring of the store then I probably don’t need it. I like meat medium to rare and enjoy Ice tea or a good Iced Baileys.

Television & Movies
If it is on it is probably for the kids, if they are not here the TV is mostly off. If I am working on something and need some background noise then I tend to watch the history channel or Discovery. A few times a week I’ll enjoy some video gaming with friends. I like all kinds of movies, Sci-fi, fantasy, action, drama, suspense, thrill, etc. Some of my favorites are Dark Crystal, Legend, Labyrinth, LOTR series, Matrix, Fifth Element, M Night Shyamalan films. I often go to the movies as I also find movies very cathartic. The Hangover and District 9 are two recent additions to the good movie list.

Books
Most books I have are sci-fi fantasy. Orson Scott Card. Terry Goodkind, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, Stephen King and more of the like. My favorite author is Robert Heinlein.

Hobbies
I have had many hobbies so far. When I was younger I collected comic books. I have always collected coins from places I have been or the random one you find in loose change you didn’t expect. For awhile I made jewelry and Armour. Lately my hobby time is spent making items for an eBay store or trying my hand at another sculpture.

Travel
I’ve always wanted to visit all the Mayan ruins, Australia, Easter Island, New Zealand, and every place in between.

Religion
Should I? Is it taboo in this type of forum? By definition I am atheist though I enjoy talking religion; there are so many vast viewpoints on this subject. There is good there is bad but It is just part of the universe. Everything else I often wonder if we just didn’t make up along the way.

Politics.
Err… Maybe not this one. People are getting tense lately. Ask though and I’ll tell you who I voted for.
