After reading suggestions on what to say and what not to say on these things I am happy to say that it’s much easier to just be myself. I am 27 and have been living in California my entire life. I am happy here but would love to explore with the right person. I have a degree in photography that has provided me with the creative outlet that I needed. Recently I decided to put aside my fears of auditioning and singing in front of others and I’ve gone back to school to get my second degree in music education so that I can be a voice teacher. Music reaches my soul and if I can provide just one other person with that same feeling then I will have done my part.

One of the most important things in my life is the synchronized swimming team that I have been swimming on and coaching for the past 18 years. There is nothing in my life that has brought me more joy than teaching young swimmers to be brilliant athletes and performers. Since I can’t make a living being a coach, nothing would give me greater joy than to spend my life teaching young people to be performers and musicians.

On a more personal note, I am easy going and I love to be with friends. I am shy and enjoy a guy who can express interest because I don’t always have the guts to do it first. I can be a sappy romantic and I like having the feeling of companionship and friendship that comes with a relationship, but I have also worked very hard on being happy and independent on my own too. Most of all, I just want to spend time with someone who wants to spend time with me. Being close, holding hands, laying next to someone…those are the little things in life that everyone should be blessed with. People and my relationships with them are the most important thing in my life. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about love relationships, family relationships, friends, or even my relationship with my swimmers…all of these relationships take priority in my life. Jobs and careers are what you have to survive, but if you don’t have relationships then you have nothing at the end of the day. No job or material item can take the place of true human relationships. I want nothing more than to have someone to share that feeling with…the feeling that someone else feels the same way.

I think first dates are an important time to get to know the basic things about someone. Doing something like going to coffee or getting a drink is nice since it allows the opportunity to talk. Movies are also nice because it takes some of the awkwardness out of having to fill all the silence with conversation. Most of all, I am open to almost anything and love getting to know new people.
