I'm not exactly sure what to write here. I'm 29, working on a Ph.D., and most interested in education: teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level. Mentoring is an important part of teaching for me, and I've been fortunate to have great opportunities to do so with some of my students so far. My faith is important to me, so I'd like to teach somewhere where it can be valued.

I enjoy music (wide-ranging), literature (also fairly wide-ranging, but not a whole lot of recent stuff - open to trying new authors though), RPGs (e.g. Spirit of the Century, D&D), dark humor (e.g. Blackadder, Made in Canada, etc.) Starting to get into cooking a little too. I've had some opportunity to travel through work and study (Czech Rep., Poland, Russia, Korea; multi-day Greyhound trips across the U.S.). I'd like to do more, and I have a great international network of friends' couches, so I look forward to doing so, maybe to celebrate when I finish my degree.

I'm close to my family (and have a fairly big extended family too). I didn't use to be a dog person, but my brother took in a very sweet rescue dog, so I guess that proves I can change : ). I'm at a funny place in my life right now, trying to finish school and start my career, so I'm not sure I'm looking for anything serious right now, but I could be. In the medium term I'd like to start a family with the right person.

Preferably something that would give us a chance to talk. Coffee or a drink are classics, I suppose, but lots of things could fit the bill (a gallery, museum, mini-golf, the possibilities are near endless). What would you like to do?
