I'm a quiet person. I value honesty above all else. I prefer intimate settings like independent theaters, the wilderness or cozy restaurants. I am reserved, truthful and responsible. I've been told I am shy and sweet. I like quiet evenings at home. I get jazzed about the arts, mother nature, cats & dogs. Clock-making is an avid pursuit of mine. As I was an art school major (BFA'86), I have imagined many contemporary designs that incorporate traditional clock making. But I am quite far from this now. I consider myself rather handy and an all around general Mr fix-it kind of guy. My home is clean and comfy. I don't snore and couldn't care less about televised sports. I'm not a guy's guy nor am I the complicated sort. I don't always know when someone is joking, I'm gullible like that. Though I'm not religious, the golden rule carries a lot of weight with me. I'm set in my ways, but willing to try new things and open to change. My credit cards are always paid in full, I live within my means. I lean to the left, drive in the right lane and chocolate and I are best friends.

I want to find someone special to share my life with and hope to create a real partnership of mutual trust & support, intimate communication, devotion and loving affection. A decision I've not made lightly. And I am willing to work on it and can be patient. I don't expect either of us to be perfect. Knowing how to listen and knowing how to speak the truth make for a healthy duo. Resolving issues that arise makes us even stronger. I aim to be responsive to my partner's needs and desires.

We could be a match if you: are direct & honest, are liberal/open-mined, think Disney or Vegas are bad ideas for vacations, want an active love life, drive an economy car, want nothing to do with guns, are financially responsible, are shy or gentle. Introverts are welcome.

As for what I want, all natural is good. With me you don't need to wear makeup. A foundation of friendship is a key first step. Traits I respect in anyone are thoughtful, calm, reserved, loyal, mindful of others. If you are honest to the point where you annoy even yourself or sometimes wish you could lie but just cant, then you are scoring major points with me. And I know it is superficial, but to me, long hair on any woman makes you look utterly delicious. But fear not, those of you who keep it short are on equal footing. And please, no fake boobs for vanity's sake. What's most important to me is friendship & honesty.

And P.S. Please don't put much if any stock in the POF chemistry test. Ive actually tested this 'test' about fifteen times with temporary profiles I created and no matter how the switches are set, apparently we are all low in 'Self-Control'. Ive even viewed other guy's profiles, some of whom are very highly rated in testimonials. But their tests also say they are supposedly low in self-control. There are only three canned responses to each of the five categories: low, moderate & high. And they all seem way off to me. I don't think I'm completely easygoing as their test suggests.
