About Me
Physically: about 5'8-9", slim physique, dark blond hair, blue/green (aqua marine-ish) eyes, told have nice smile. Anything else just ask me.
Background: Never married, no children, live alone in own place in downtown Manhattan, speak Italian and Brazilian Portuguese fluently and am very passionate about their cultures (lived in both places as a student and as an international volunteer for quite sometime). I truly loved the experience.
Personality: Am fun loving, ambitious, kind, extraverted, positive natured, warm hearted, optimistic, idealist, introspective, have been told have a 'great fortitude', indomitable in the face of adversity (I was told by my grandpa that this is a trait we get from our ancestors in Naples - have to research that..), constantly curious, love to be challenged , loyal, kind, patient (esp with those who need/want help or want to better themselves), inspired, always seeking to be better today than I was yesterday. The maxim that I *try* to embody on a daily basis is from Mahatma Ghandi's golden rules for mankind, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." (living in nyc this is a challenge in itself but well worth it!) together with Plato's "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle". Another quote that deeply resonates with me is Voltaire's strong minded statement: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". The spirit behind this statement is what drove me to go to law school.
My Ideal Woman: very *kind* (this is first for a reason as true, lasting and ageless beauty begins on the inside; you can never be truly beautiful unless you have a beautiful personality, dare I say, soul. Beauty get muted quite quickly in the face of an ugly spirit. Over time the inner self becomes that person's outer self. It is the only timeless beauty that we possess.), generous, inspired and inspiring, others-centric, loyal, intuitive, loves unconditionally, independent, sweet by nature not design, passionate about life and those she loves, can nurture and be nurtured, kind to children, animals and those that cannot materially benefit her, well educated either from life or through formal means, intelligent, family oriented, strong both mentally and physically, seeking and capable of having a long term relationship based on true friendship and propelled by a natural, ever evolving and developing chemistry, adventurous, proactive in life and in a relationship, communicative (knows that a conversation is a dynamic and reciprocal process with both sides equally giving and taking), naturally funny and quick to smile (and slow to anger) with good sense of humor underpinning it all.
A woman who would just as contently live with marooned on a far off island (def more Castaway's than Gilligan's) as she would in a palazzo with a courtyard and eternal city view in Rome, *as long as we were together*. A 'home is where the [our] heart is' mentality (if that makes any sense).
I know this list is as exhaustive as it is seemingly idealistic, and I don't have any Pollyannaish delusions about finding every single trait in a prospective significant other. I feel that it is enough that she aspires to have or develop those traits one day with me.
What I’m doing with my life:
Have BA (philosophy), JD (law) and recently finished a Master's in Finance.
One of my life goals is to adopt at least one truly *unwanted* child from a severely impoverished, underprivileged place (Did not get the idea from Jolie!) If I could change that one person's life for the better, I would consider that success. I have lived enough to know that I can't change the world, but the world will change for that one person.
I’m really good at
Some things are best experienced, and not described...
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me:
Eyes (if aqua marine blue eyes are your thing) and Smile (white, straight teeth with a tad of devil-may-care mischief thrown in for good measure).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food:
Food: Sushi (esp spicy salmon, spicy tuna rolls - like the ones made at Tomoe in the Village); Truffle Egg Toast (like the one at 'Ino on Bedford St.) or perhaps a perfectly marinated Argentinian skirt steak with freshly made chimichurri sauce (ok, I think i am going to get back to this profile and get a steak now, and an ice ice cold Corona!)
Dessert:Chocolate Souffle with a caffè macchiato; Tartufo affogato (as made in Italy, not the States)
Color: Dark Presidential Blue or Black
TV: The Office, 24, The Wire, The Shield, The Sarah Connor Chronicles (seems they took this off tv though!)
Movies: *Godfather 1,2, (Sonny: Hey, listen, I want somebody good - and I mean very good - to plant that gun. I don't want my brother coming out of that toilet with just his****in his hands, alright? Clemenza: The gun'll be there.) *Few Good Men (Galloway: "Why do you hate them so much?" Lt. Weinberg: "They beat up on a weakling, and that's all they did. The rest is just smokefilled coffee-house crap. They tortured and tormented a weaker kid. They didn't like him. So, they killed him. And why? Because he couldn't run very fast." - this quote sums up why I went to law school), *Braveheart, *Gladiator, *Glengarry Glen Ross (Baldwin:"We're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anybody want to see second prize? [Holds up prize] Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."), *Quick Change (Quaid: "It's bad luck just SEEING a thing like that!).
Books: The Alchemist; The Best Works of Pablo Neruda; Skyscraper Dreams; Compilations of Anais Nin (loved this line of hers I just read: "Each friend represents a world in us, a world not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born". For me, Nin is able to articulate truths that we know in our hearts, but sometimes cannot see in our minds, like: "And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."; Lincoln's Memoirs (I still get chills when I really feel, take in the words set forth in his seminal speech at Gettysburg "Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.").
My favorite cities: Rome!, NYC, Paris (sans Parisians), Ischia, Salvador de Bahia. Plan on going to Havana, Cuba (legally!) within the year, as well as Haiti for a volunteer/relief trip. Would love to see what carnival is like in Rio, Brazil and and Port-of-Spain, Trinidad!

I think that chemistry is a critical and foundational component of any developing relationship, so a relaxed, no-pressure coffee or glass of wine in place where one can get to know the other without too many distractions is best.
I will leave you with a 2009 American philosopher's prescient quote:
"May the best of your todays, be the worst of your tomorrows"
