I believe that in order to really enjoy life, one must try at least one new thing a year. A few years ago I tried whitewater rafting and I loved it. This year I intend to learn how to rollerblade and I am thinking of trying falconing as well. If you had to press me to say what my 'core' hobbies are, they are reading, cooking, learning languages, music, travelling, racquetball and kayaking. It is nice to take a moment and enjoy life and what it offers. I pride myself in not being addicted to texting or cellphone usage; I can go days without using them. There is enough in life that I want to see; if you one spends too much time on text messages, they might miss it!

My goals are entwined with my philosophy of enjoying every moment of life. I am very happy with my career as an international educator so I feel complete and fortunate in that sense. I envision working in the field for many years and a highlight for me is seeing students return from an abroad experience transformed. It is great! One day, I would like to own a house and share it with someone. I feel like that is the next step for me in life.

I consider myself positive and I like to be able to have a good influence on people (whether they are the elderly or children). It is important that people know that being a gentleman and being civil are not bad things. Somewhere along the line, we as a society reached a point where it is almost outlandish to be a gentleman. I won't change. My best qualities are that I am empathetic and I have a good sense of humor (dry). I am also very loyal to my friends.

My taste in music is very electic. I love jazz, world music, rock, folk, classical and opera. My favorite musicians are: Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, John Denver, Johnny Clegg and Savuka, Peter Gabriel, the Vandermark 5 and so many others.

What would I do on a first date? This depends on the season. In the spring, a first date can be a nice stroll along the river followed by cappucino in a local cafe. In the winter, it might be at a musuem followed by a drink at bar/restaurant. In any case, it is very important that the date take place where we can have a conversation and explore things together.
