I am a very active person and love the outdoors... especially being around water. I go to the coast often. I play softball, swim, hike, shoot pool and go to sporting events. My girls are almost grown and gone. One is in college and the other in high school. That frees me up for some "me" time which I would love to take advantage of. I am very honest, independent, feisty, quick witted and funny. I have a lot of heart and passion in whatever I do. I am a successful business person and hopefully optimistic at all times. My favorite 2 phrases have to be... "It is what it is" (and it's all good) and "I am who I am take it or leave it." You decide how that sits with you.

I have been asked many times why I put "other relationship" and in the interest of not wasting anyone's time I will explain it here. First of all... I do not want to be limited by choices from a drop down box to describe what it is I am looking for so my sense of rebellion had me pick that choice. But more importantly, I believe that life is a journey and people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. I also believe that humans are generally social creatures and I think if we all dug deep we would admit that it would be nicer to go through life with that special someone at our side. Am I ultimately looking to settle down with "the one"? Sure I am, but I don't want to limit or turn away potential future friends or business associates by picking the wrong phrase in a silly drop down box.

Since I am on my soapbox, as a footnote I must comment that there are several men I wanted to write to but couldn't just because they set their emails not to accept a simple message from those who put "other relationship." Now I get not wanting to hear from someone who wants to just email or is looking for an intimate encounter whan you are looking for a long term relationship... but to cut me off at the knees when you don't even get that I might be looking for the same thing as you is just close minded on your part. Thank you for letting me vent!

I'm a very simple person. On a first date all I want to do is see if we get along through communication and then see if there is any chemistry. It doesn't need to be an elaborate setting and I don't need an ostentatious show of anything..... just sit and talk. It can be dinner, coffee, hiking, a trip to the coast, or shooting pool while drinking a few beers.
