As a boy on the Cape I used to watch this elderly couple sit outside their home, each pursuing their hobbies but always next to one another. When it came time for lunch one would get up and bring it to the other outside on the tray table.

As the day set they'd hold hands and retire to the comfort of the inside of their home repeating this routine the next day with one exception, the individual who prepared the previous day's lunch became the recipient of that daily lunchtime ritual.

As I grew older I believed that this was what true love was supposed to look like. One day the wife passed away but the husband continued his daily ritual of sitting outside continuing one of his hobbies, bringing lunch outside onto the tray table and as the sun set, retired to their home alone but not for long...it was a short 3 months since his wife passed and one day, we didn't see him emerge from his home. We discovered later that day that he too had passed, believing that he died from a broken heart and wanted to join his beloved wife.

To find this kind of unquestionable love is rare, perhaps even rarer in today's world but who knows...maybe with the help of the internet it can be easier or is it just a chance meeting and taking that first step to talk to someone you've seen in a crowed room is what it takes. Either way we all have to take that first step, take a chance if we want to find what I grew up knowing to be "true love".

I am a SAS programmer, ergo the username and recently took a position with a company in Beverly, Ma. Presently looking for a home in that area. I have 2 amazing daughters, the oldest got married last Fall and my son in law is a great guy, my other daughter will be performing with the Lil Iguana Child Safety program and my son will be pursuing college in the spring. For my 50th birthday they bought tickets for us to the Patriots game against the Bengals, 2nd row on the 25 yd line...it was indescribable but the best part wasn't the action on the field or the cheerleaders, it was spending time with them.

Some place quiet for coffee or a glass of wine where we could talk without having to talk over loud music.
