I suppose that I’m like lots of other people on this site. I’m in my mid 30s and still haven’t found anyone to share the highs and the lows of life. I get along fine by myself, and have no huge need to be in just any relationship, but I find that I’d like to meet someone that I could come home to and talk with about the kind of day we each had. Maybe we could go out walking and just discuss where life took us that day.

I have this very bad habit of letting the world rush past me while I think about all the great things I should be doing, and it would be nice to have someone by my side to help keep me on track. I'm looking for someone who can help me keep my sense of wonder for the world around me alive, and who will give me a swift kick when I try to retreat into a dull and routine existence. I promise to try to do the same for her, and if we’re lucky, maybe we’ll manage to see some pretty interesting stuff together.

The most attractive trait I can think of for any person is an ability to engage the world with an open mind. When you take a position on issues or are asked for an opinion, do you really consider the position you are taking? There is nothing that upsets me more than to try to talk to someone who never questions the world around them. I don't necessarily have to agree with a person, but I definitely want to know that they are truly thinking about what their beliefs are.

To me first dates are all about conversation. My primary goal is to get to know someone, so I think coffee shops are ideal. I just want to sit and talk and try to connect with the person on the other side of the table.
