MUSIC: I enjoy traditional jazz (Miles, Coltrane, on 88.3fm) and I attend local concerts. Classical, too! And, Andrea Bocelli. My user name acknowledges the great Brazilian composer, Antonio Carlos Jobim.

FILMS: I prefer independent films, at the Landmark Theaters.

COMMUNITY: I am in my third term, as president of our home owners' association.

POLITICS: I am a Democrat, in full support of our new president.

SPORTS: I play tennis, swim, bike, walk Moonlight Beach, follow the Chargers.

APPEARANCE: 5'9" tall, 165 lbs, 32" waist. I've been an athlete, all of my life. I do not expect you to be one. But, I would hope you have maintained a (somewhat) healthy life style and that your weight is proportionate to your figure. Our parents gave us our bodies. So, let's not be taking too much credit for that. What we can do, is to take care of ourselves, as well as we can, within normal limits.

READING: I lean toward non-fiction books, about our foreign policies.

BAGGAGE: We all have some. Mine is carry on, as I expect yours to be.

HEALTH: I had a complete physical, in July, 2009. I have no problems, of any kind. I take no medications.

TELEVISION: I don't watch much. CNN & MSNBC. I never watch Fox (I prefer news).

BRAINS: I have one. IQ: 135.

HUMOR: Here's an observation, I penned. I do not date ladies, who have lived in Antarctica and the Arctic Circle (bi-polar). Here's another one. Unlike Sarah Palin, I have not written a book. Unlike Sarah, I have read one. My humor is edgy (my favorite carton: Dilbert), but I try to keep it tasteful.

WHO I AM: I consider myself a kind person, reflective, verbal, literate, a good listener (giving feedback), respectful of others, funny (I will make you laugh). I keep my word (which is everything), focused, grounded, a Felix (not an Oscar). I am monogamous, always. I am fit (no couch potatoes, please). I have high energy; yet, I'm at peace, with myself. I have a deep passion for my interests (music and film) and for the people I care about. I will open all doors, for you. Including the one to my heart. My outlook on life, is positive (not naive). I was born in Evanston, Illinois and raised in Illinois. I've been in California, since Spring, 1962. For some inexplicable reason, children and pets like me! I am a long time member of the San Diego Zoological Society.

I prefer a quiet setting, where we can hear one another (coffee shop, park, beach) or a place of your choosing. I am an outdoor person, as I would hope you would be, too.

Keep the bar high, ladies, as do I.

One of the great jazz singers, Shirley Horn, sings a favorite song of mine called, "May The Music Never End." A favorite line, of mine, comes from that beautiful ballad. It sums up my remaining years. "...I still have songs to sing and words I need to say."
