| | First off a story - because who doesn't like stories?
It was a cold winter evening. The bitter wind whistled an evident sigh in the air. "Another night spent alone, oh how I wish I could find someone" thought a young, beautiful woman, lying on her living room floor watching her television set attentively. The Notebook was on, and although she had seen it five times already (that month) she felt compelled to watch it again. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were just perfect for each other! As the film ended, the woman let out a loud sob as she unwrapped herself from her fleece blanketed cocoon. Never had she felt more alone. Still weeping, she stood up and hurried off to grab her laptop.
She logged on to Plenty of Fish in an increasingly maddening attempt to find her Prince Charming. Her profile loaded and she was thrilled to see that she had three new messages since her previous visit to the site. “Surely at least one of them has to be decent” she said excitedly to herself, confident that her expectations would be met.
She eagerly opened the first message, only to be disappointed to see that it contained merely two words – “whats up?” Slightly discouraged but still optimistic, she clicked delete and moved on to the second message - "whoa d*mn gurl u sexi". Frustrated, she proceeded to the third message – her last hope. “hey u lyke to chat?”. Crestfallen, she decided at this moment that the only other members on Plenty of Fish were old men, creeps, and gangster wannabes and she didn't want a part of it anymore. Just as she began to go through the process of deleting her account, she stumbled across a profile she had not read before. Feeling like she had nothing to lose, she decided to check it out.
She read through the profile and was very impressed at this seemingly perfect man who had such amazing wit and an incredible sense of humour. She felt her spirits rise. "This has to be the most super awesome profile EVER!" she exclaimed. Despite the fact she had never actually communicated with this gentleman, she immediately felt a connection. These strong feelings confirmed it - she needed to contact him.
Slowly and cautiously, she began to write her message. She was aware that men like this were rare. Hours passed as she searched for the perfect words that she could send him - she had one chance, and was afraid to mess it up. Finally, it was complete. After reading through her message one last time, she took a deep breath, nervously clicked on the send button and waited for this dream guy to respond. Every few minutes, she clicked refresh, desperately hoping to see that he had written back. Unfortunately, he was offline (surely doing something important), and she would have to wait until the morning to read his clever reply to her message.
Feeling tired but finally at peace, she wrapped herself securely back into her warm cocoon, imagining that the blanket was the strong arms of her dream man cuddling her gently but with care, protecting her from the cool, brisk air. The calming silence cloaked her as she slowly fell asleep, where she was able to dream of her wildest and most pleasurable desires finally coming true. It was the most comforting and relaxing sleep she’d ever had.
...totally based on a true story by the way, haha.
so...i guess i should actually talk about myself, haha. i currently work full time as an accountant and am taking classes at night to work towards my CGA designation. i know that sounds like it's REALLY fun (haha) but it's actually kinda boring! shocking, i know.
here are some facts about myself that i'm sure you will just find absolutely fascinating:
- i am colour blind.
- i can't blow a bubble with gum. pathetic, i know. :(
- i have the incredible ability to embarrass myself no matter what the situation.
- i am a VERY proud owner of a snuggie blanket. jealous? of course you are. :)
- i am currently in my fifth year of a four year BBA in accounting program. go me!
anyway, i think this profile is getting worse as it goes on, so i'll just end it here. but send me a message if you actually read this far, since i'm not sure very many people do, haha.
