I like reading, writing, sand volleyball, road races, surfing, rock climbing, flag football, golfing, kissing, cereal, honey ham, jeans, white Wayfarers, dialogue, stars, blue moons, Blue Moon, Rolling Rock, lifting weights, conversational idioms, and pointing out split infinitives.

I'm a fiction writer and screenwriter. I have an MFA in creative writing from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and they tell me that this means something. Occasionally write and submit short stories to The New Yorker. I fully expect them to publish a submission one of these days.

Recent transplant to San Francisco. I up and moved here on September 3, 2009. This is the place to be. :)

I do believe I'm in love with Polk Street. Tacos and Coronas at Nick's on Tuesdays. Trivia at Tonic on Wednesdays. Blur is swell. Kozy Kar is terrifically absurd.

I'm obsessed with running--not so much with high jumping.

My sibling lives in KC (Kansas City, MO), so he and I often eat at Oklahoma Joe's, which Anthony Bourdain calls "the best BBQ on Earth."

The Pandora and Google Maps apps on the BlackBerry are lifesavers in this city.

I'm a college football junkie.

Dialogue. Dialogue is the currency of any winning date. Two monologues do not a dialogue make! Let's do the unexpected. Imagination. While drinks are nice, it's been done. Simple yet woefully trite. As long as the conversation flows and the chemistry is there, the setting is, more or less, immaterial.
