Forgive me if this doesn't sound all romantic for I believe romance comes with one's actions and words. This is pretty much who I am :
I've never had a wife since taking care of my brothers and sisters took precedence and lots of time, which meant no time to create my own family.
My goals are simple : at work - to help small people, at home - to rehab my house and yard, in society - doing volunteer work when I can.
Some of my interests : sailing, projects, working on (a few)old motorcycles, collecting old telephones.
If you want to call me unique because life as a single was more or less chosen for me I guess you could that unique.
My taste in music is fairly simple : Either Classical music, or anything else where the lyrics actually mean anything relevant.
I enjoy all kinds of animals, especially those not domesticated. I have a sweet calico cat.
If you want to know more about me we I guess we'll just have to write each other......

First date : well, whatever and wherever it would be will probably be uncomfortable because first impressions seem so important to some. We could do something neutral like : walk along the Lake and skip stones and then have a picnic lunch, or take a bike ride through a park, or fly a kite. Or on the other hand we could do wild and crazy stuff so we can judge each other realistically. First impressions notwithstanding, you're either on the same wavelength or you're not. Yet, on the other hand maybe those things would be a little too spontaneous on the first date. Maybe you should decide -- perhaps tea and butter scones at a local coffee house, white shirt and tie required. (BTW you don't need to wear makeup to impress me. I don't.) :)
