My name is Troy, and if I had to discribe myself I would say that I am pretty laid back,easy to talk to, open minded, romantic, creative,and funny, I just started working out 5 times a week and man am I sore lol, I'm an artist, and I like to write. I enjoy being outdoors and I especially like to fish, and hike. I enjoy going out dancing, playing volleyball, working out,barbecuing at the park, paintball, hiking, playing board and card games, museums, art shows, miniature golf, and basically anything fun. I also enjoy the simple things that life has to offer like an intimate dinner with someone special, relaxing on the beach at sunset, reading a good book before bed, cuddling on the couch and watching a good movie, and soaking in a hot bath listening to relaxing music. This is an excerpt of something I wrote that was publshed I hope you like it.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PERSON? I am a mentally Ill man wondering the park, lost within a fragmented delusion of a reality known only to myself. I am confused, hungry, with more than most of my meals lining that of a dumpster. Society's ignorance and lack of compassion towards my condition have left me fending primarily for myself, with little hope of a better life. Children mock me, adults show only disgust and contempt, and politicians scramble to hide when faced with addressing the financial impact concerning my homelessness and possible long-term care. I am someone's father, I am someone's son.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PERSON? I am a man who has lost both legs, and a marriage due to my selfless sacrifice unto my country. I am also a man who is plagued by the nightmares of war and its many evils and disparities. Severely depressed and anguished by atrocities committed in the name of a ruthless god and a mindless and sadistic sect of believers. I am broken, and I am weary. I struggle against losing myself to the bottle, and to the needle, and I must remain strong and persevere. So remember me, when you see me on the corner with a sign that reads "HOMELESS VET, PLEASE, ANYTHING HELPS".

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PERSON? I am a teenage girl leaning against the wall of your local establishment, toting a backpack and skateboard, dressed extreme by society's standards, hair a bright purple and hot pink with several facial piercing, as well as a few elaborate tattoos. At first glance you may see me as rebellious and hard, ready to challenge authority at any moment. Yet just below that tough exterior resides a soul and spirit that has been crushed and brutally scarred by a sexually abusive and alcoholic father with no regard for a young girl's welfare. Now I'm on the run, welling with rage and self-hatred desperately seeking connection with others who share my pain and anger towards those with whom I was expected to trust and rely upon. Now I cling to a new family, kids not unlike myself, who feel that on the street although tough, dangerous and lonely at times, that is far better than the alternative of facing an unprovoked beating or sexual advance by a person I once trusted.

HAVE YOU SEEN ME? In each of us there are traces of others, including you. Next time you see me, look into yourself and realize that we may be of another color, background or social status but as human beings we are all connected and deserve respect and dignity.
