So about me…

I am a person that is optimistic to a fault. A romantic an open minded. I have those days like anyone else when life seems topsy-turvy but its about embracing it and working through it all that makes you stronger. Trust, communication, loyalty, honor are words I live by. I also live through laughter, happiness, comfort, kindness, care-taking and found these acts have carved the greatest memories and feelings with me. I am a father to a 6 year old son who is such an inspiration and certainly on his way to being 18 already. He is half Hispanic and half Irish. Smart as a whip and funny like his old man. Plus he is on the acts of kindness program – respecting others. I seem to have this terrible habit of closing Target on weekend nights with a smile of where did my life go?

As for my interests I could spend the day relaxing around the house or going out and setting the town on fire. My passions are going mountain bike riding, road bike riding, surfing, swimming, hiking, camping, ice skating, running with my golden retriever and people watching. My favorite sports to watch – Hockey – hockey- hockey. I am open to other sports and still trying to figure out how ping pong is a sport. Staying fit is something I practice daily. I cycle, work out with a military buddy of mine getting beat up on core training, and running. I work extremely hard at what I do for a living and find that my career is so rewarding and interesting at the same time. I do have aspirations of spinning off a portion of what I do into a business in the years to come.

Before that big purchase I often times look online for opinions so I thought it would be great to give you a 2nd opinion. Since family and friends are so important in my life, I asked them for their opinions of me before getting into this dating forum. Please understand they are a brutally honest bunch. Here is what my question to them was: “what they see in me and what I could improve on”. In no certain order this is what I was told:

*** a great father, easy going, reliable, street savvy, funny, enjoy others humor, well traveled, thoughtful and caring to a fault, kind heart, hard worker, attentive to others needs, good ear for music, balances life, a horrible dancer, active, and my favorite from my son – "my best buddy", followed by “can we go to Target to get some toys”. It would come off as if I had a thought highly of myself or insecure if I commented either way so I will leave it as is – opinions of others ***

In search of:

I am looking for a woman who understands the foundation of our relationship is trust, open communication, respect and honor for each other. I dont need a model in my life as I see all the outside beauty short sided by what is truly trying to shine through internally but I would like to see a photo that is a full body shot - its only fair as I know I read this complaint all the time in your profiles. That doesn't mean I need a bag full of problems. A kind heart, humorous, can see a lighter side with much of this world. Someone to keep me on my toes with discussions and challenging topics. Friendly teasing or just being caught off guard with a practical joke are welcome too. You would be secure with yourself and unafraid to express your feelings and reaching out to those in need. A person that can be there as partner when times are tough and understand the situation is only temporary. A woman that can find balance in your life and welcome your partners company. You would have to understand that failing at something doesn’t make you a failure. Finally a woman that still believes in that dream you had when you were younger - acts of chivalry…

I am an open book but not a cook book for the burning. I would certainly welcome learning more about you.
