I am fortunate to have a great life and was able to retire after consulting all over the country. I want to share and explore the wonderful options of the SoCal coast with the right woman - who is self confident, intelligent, not obsessed with money or shopping, a little impetuous like me -- most of all has to laugh and be able to share her interests with me, share mine and/or enjoy her personal time. I hope whe'll love my GoldenDoodle puppy (poodle and golden retreiver) I recently moved to the Ventura/Santa Barbara area and have gotten involved in a few activities/organizations including paddle-board surfing, the ManKind Project (increased self awareness and community service), salsa dancing lessons, etc. I love my community.I am non-judgemental,almost impossible to anger, have a self-deprecating humor and a quick wit. I have two great (educated and nearly married) grown kids. I keep up with the news and love Jon Stewart's Daily Show. I like most music but seem to spend more time with classic rock, Santana, etc. I love to go to concerts and an occassional play (recently saw "Love" (Beatles) and "Lion King". Physically,I have hair and teeth, am short, have a muscular build with 5 extra pounds and I guess I am at least average looking(who knows, but I have had long relationships with attractive women). I look for excitement in life in addition to peaceful beautiful sunsets on the beach. I have been successful in education, business and family so I don't need those type of goals. Mostly I now want to continue to better know myself and to find the right woman for me - but only if she is sure that I am right for her. I don't play games and am not afraid to be honest

Hobbies include remodeling my house, spending time with my puppy and friends, occassional trips, motorcyle rides up the coast, snow skiing, paddle board surfing,softball, Time Magazine reading, strolls through parks, art galleries, swap meets and other interesting areas. Music is a must in my life. I'd play tennis or golf if you want me to.

I care about friends and family well-being and hope you do too. I'm relatively liberal and don't have a lot of patience for "haters". I'm not overly concerned with race or religion. I jsut want a good person who follows my "golden rule" religion. Sorry, dont have a lot of recent headshots but here's one from last ski season. Didn't think you wanted to see one with my last girlfriend. Ask me for more.

PS: I read my test chemistry results and it says I am NOT family oriented because I said I don't want children. Not true. I am very family oriented with my kids but don't want more young children of my own but look forward to grandchildren...maybe the test needs a subtle tweek..justasuggestion

I could says lots, as the prompts tell me to do but it's pretty simple: I'd want to find a peaceful non-pressured probably outdoors setting to getknow you without too many distractions or props...which can come on date #2 or after.

Let's start with some wine overlooking the ocean. Let's respect each other and our mutual desire to be nice but not spend hours if we can see that the chemistry isn't there. Assuming we are comfortable with each other, maybe we can walk on the beach and get our feet wet. If you are comfortable with "impromptu", then let's grab some dinner..we'll know where to go..could be a great sub sandwich or candles and white table clothes. After that we could put the top down on my red two-seater and laugh as we ride up the coast a bit with the wind in our hair or find a peaceful tree-filled canyon to investigate. If we've gotten this far then a beautiful sunset on the beach is a must. Can I bring my puppy? Let's rate our first date on whether we've laughed, whether we've found someone who we'd like to be one of our best friends and whether we are comfortable holding hands by the end of the evening.
