It's been said that "we all live under the same sky, but we don't all share the same horizon". I live for sunny days, spectacular sunsets, walks in the woods and the beach (hope there's enough room left on the beach as so many people on this site like to walk the beach). While not a redneck, I love the outdoors and would call myself a "counurbanite", ie somebody who appreciates what both urban and rural life have to offer.

I have a married daughter and grandchildren and I retired two years ago. I exercise regularly, like to dance, and consider myself fit/trim. I enjoy good movies, intelligent conversation, have an interest in global issues and like to learn about other cultures. Music is my passion, esp stuff from the 60's/70's, the blues and Latin music. I've travelled a bit and plan on more travel. Dressing up for an evening out is nice sometimes, but I am most comfortable in jeans and doing simple things like hiking or winery tours.

My potential partner will be: attractive (at least to me),over 5'3", a people person, fit/trim, financially independent, like the outdoors, easy going, intelligent, and have a good sense of humour. As a couple, we would respect each other's differences and our need for our space. Since I am retired and like to travel, my partner will either be retired now or have less than five years left to work.

Not sure by the term "first date" - if this means a first encounter, then maybe a casual drink at the Harbour front and possibly a walk afterwards (if the wind is blowing in the right direction).
