About Me
I'm a child of the 70s and if anyone says the 80s didn't totally rock they're no friend of mine. ;-) The 80s had the best music, tv, movies, and pop culture. I never did conform to normal ways of thinking whether politically, religiously, or academically. In fact I was rather bored with the way school was taught. I like to push buttons and get people to think. An honest debate among friends is the perfect evening. Einstein described the true Pisces as being both scientist and mystic. That would be me. Most of the time I just like to think sh*tup. I feel it is important to note that due to some people misunderstanding or judging me in the past I need to be upfront with the fact that I am Pagan. While others are content to "have" a religion, I choose to "practice" Spirituality. I have great respect for people's choice to believe whatever they want without any question from me. Some people will see that I am pagan and deem me evil without even learning about what exactly I believe or see past it and find that is only part of what I am. Judge me for WHO I am, not a small part of what I am. I'm very shamanic in what I do and believe, borrowing common truths from Native American and Celtic thinking, add in some Buddhist principles and mix it up a bit. When people ask what nationality I am I reply "Terran" which simple means "of the Earth". I would love to have an intelligent discussion with anyone on those topics but if you deem it necessary to pass me by simply for my beliefs being different then I guess we'll never know what we've missed in knowing each other. Your loss, not mine. As anyone who's ever put together an online profile knows, we're all way too complex to whittle down to a profile page. My life's an open book, just ask and you'll quickly get to know me. I'm quick with a joke or biting sarcasm, but I'm also the perfect shoulder to cry on. I offer ears that will listen, a shoulder to lean on, a heart that will care, eyes that will look at your beauty within as well as without, arms that are gentle yet protective, and a mind that asks as many questions as offers answers. The most defining moment of my life happened in July of 1989. I spent a month in the former Soviet Union as a Youth Ambassador. Everywhere we went we all lined up and took group photos in front of all sorts of buildings we visited. Try to imagine 30 cameras clicking. One incident will always be with me. I tell you, you can't put into words how it feels to stand in Red Square, in front of Lenin's tomb, on the forth of July. We were taking the usual group shots and a crowd started to form around us as we started lining up the cameras. Before we knew it we were singing the national anthem and waving American flags. The crowd got bigger; we got nervous. Armed guards made their way to the front of the crowd and we're like, "oh shit". Next thing we knew they were picking up our cameras, taking pictures, and posing with us. One guard picked up a camera and started to take our picture then handed it to someone in the crowd and posed with us. That was so long a go, but seriously, not a SINGLE day has gone by that I have not thought of that trip or briefly relived a memory. I( cherish my memories and all my friends that help me make them. My friends are my life and I am loyal to a fault, willing to drop everything for someone in need. I have a degree in psychology and spent the last 10 years working at various mental hospitals and group homes throughout southeastern Michigan. I am finally living my dream as an author. I formed my publishing company, Deep Forest Productions, and began writing in 2007. I have 4 titles released and I have also been featured in such magazines as Mused: the Bella Online Literary Review and have been featured in newspapers and radio/internet broadcasts. It may sound cliché but life really is a journey, with its many roads, its pitfalls, its triumphs, and its quiet moments of peace and reflection. I do not limit myself to any specific genre of writing. I do poetry, fiction, and non-fiction on whatever topic tickles my fancy or provides my muse with creative inspiration. If anything you could say my genre is Life. The stories I write, and especially the poetry and shorter reflections range from depressing, to optimistic, to humorous and frightening. For that is life. Anyone who is happy 24/7 and has not a care in the world has not experienced life. When not writing I am also a lead investigator for Paranormal Research and Information Society of Michigan. Yes folks, I am a ghost hunter!! I am a fun, caring, generous, loyal, and totally unique person who's even more enjoyable in person. My sense of humor and enthusiasm lights up any room and I love socializing but I also enjoy quiet, romantic evenings at home. As I stated, I'm an open book and I believe it complete honesty, I hold nothing back and if you want to know more all you have to do is ask. I could sum up the frustrations I have with dating by offering up this, which I wrote recently. How can you say you can’t love me If you never take the time to know me To know what’s on my mind Or to walk softly through my memories Or view my dreams To stop and look into my eyes Just as you would lift up a rock To find the treasures hidden beneath Yes you might love me And you might not But how can you be sure If you never take the time to try
