About Me
Well, hi. I'm new to the area and have just started renovating a nice, old house overlooking The Whulj. I enjoy working with my hands and have some skill as a craftsman, so this is definitely a labor of love. I've already experienced a strong sense of community here, so it seems this new locale will prove to be a good choice.
First off, I am a man of integrity. Nothing, but nothing, is more important to me than my word, honor, and sense of justice. I am a published author whose book has been used as a college text in Environmental Ethics. It is fair to say that I'm intelligent, articulate, loyal to my friends, competent, resourceful, hard-working, neat, polite, and financially secure.
I'm deeply committed to sustainable living; for most of my life, I've grown, raised, gathered, or otherwise harvested most of my own food. I am 3rd generation-removed Amish, as well as adopted Tsimshian (quite the combination, eh?), which has undoubtedly molded my life values. My goal has always been to live simply, but very well indeed. My politics are probably well to the Left of Michael Moore's, and my spirituality is much more Native American than mainstream.
One of my lifelong pursuits has been fitness. I've had to give up marathoning (hips), and now content myself with cycling, kayaking, hiking, weight-lifting, and the bump-and-grind of self-sufficient living. My body weight hasn't changed in 40+ years, and I consistently score near the 100% percentile in wellness exams. I strive for a healthy diet, rest, exercise, and moderation of substances (and, yes, chocolate can be considered a substance!)
Be advised: I am a free-spirit and likely won't fit inside your box or anyone else's. While I've dabbled as a mathematician, college instructor, and author, my life's labor has been as an overly-bright, blue-collar worker (logger, forester, commercial fisherman, arborist), and I do not regret the choices I've made. I'm not impressed by materialism or consumerism, and have a low tolerance of urban areas. I am very motivated by fun or whatever piques my rather eclectic interests.
About you: First, thanks for taking the time to read this garble. Let's be honest and admit that, without physical attraction/chemistry, it's kinda like trying to start a fire with wet matches. But physical attraction only goes so far. I prefer women with proper wit, adventrous spirit, and somewhat compatible interests/values. Rather than create a long wish-list and caveats for a partner, I am mindful that 'the heart wants what the heart wants', and leave it at that. However, long-distance relationships and children hostile to mama's new boyfriend are non-starters. If any of this resonates with you, please send me a note.
First Date
First meeting, something very short and simple (I've yet to get that far on this site!). First date, entirely dependent on mutual interests.
runningasawolfruns has 2 roses that can be sent.
