I am an outgoing and friendly guy who finds myself thrown back into the dating scene after a long hiatus, and am looking to meet someone to enjoy this journey we call life with. On the outside I'm a very self-confident, natural-born leader who can talk to anybody; on the inside is a mystery that twists and turns with the passage of time. I've been described as having wisdom beyond my physical age which comes from having learned many of life's lessons the hard way.

I work hard, play hard, and live modest giving thanks for each day on this earth and believe that no matter how successful someone is in life, if they don't have someone that they care about to share it with, then it has been for naught. To me, the true measure of one's success in life and legacy isn't the wealth and material possessions acquired, nor professional positions held - our truest measure of success and legacy is the lives we have touched and made a positive impact on/changes in. Once I call you a friend or loved one, there is no end of this earth to which I wouldn't go to help you in any way I could. In all the ways that count, I am old fashioned - still believe in opening doors for others, saying "thank you", stopping to help the car on the side of the road struggling to change a tire or with the hood up, ect - all because it's my deeply held belief that the measure of kindness, compassion, and empathy we have shown others on this earth is the same measure we will be shown when it's time to meet our maker.

I love music and am the type of person you would find listening to rock one moment and classical the next as I've learned to appreciate almost all music at least to some degree. If you're familiar with Loreena McKennitt that's an added bonus :)

I'm also a wickedly great cook (the cook by the seat of your pants kind) who loves trying out new foods, so I hope you don't mind eating them with me :)

I prefer a casual first date, something where we can talk and get to know each other - an evening out at the coffee-shop followed by a good restaurant sounds nice, although I am game for just about anything you might have in mind :)
