About Me
I'm an aspiring writer with a 9-5 government job. I freelance as a columnist for the DC Examiner. I'm currently in the process of writing my first books (I tend to start a few projects at a time; I'm currently focusing all of my energy on a memoir). Jack Kerouac is my inspiration, and if you haven't guessed yet, "On the Road" is my favorite book. One of my favorite hobbies is browsing used bookstores to see what kind of gem I can find. :)

I have a love for tattoos (I currently have 5, only one of which is visible in professional attire, and I plan on getting more in the future). Each tattoo has a special meaning to me; I consider tattoos to be a creative work of art which helps an individual express him or herself.)

My favorite movies are Boondock Saints, Donnie Darko, Gran Torino, Lost Boys, and Silence of the Lambs. I try not to watch a lot of TV but I do have a few "can't miss" shows: Criminal Minds, House, and Top Chef. I enjoy all types of music but I'm particularly fond of more mellow tunes from Ben Folds, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Jack Johnson.

First Date
Dinner and a movie are so cliche, and frankly boring for a first date. I want a chance to get to know who I'm meeting. I would love to spend a Sunday afternoon browsing a bookstore or checking out a new exhibit in a museum (I still haven't checked out the Crime & Punishment Museum or the Newseum, both very high on my list of things to do). Perhaps those are better suited for a second date. Of course for that first meeting happy hour works as well. It's a relaxing atmosphere that allows one to get to know the other person without the pressure of a traditional date.
