About Me
Finalizing the divorce and looking to re-join the human race. (Seriously - paperwork is nearly final and we'll submit it to the court to close it out!)
Originally from Motown, big on all Detroit sports teams, though I'm glad to see Chicagoans finally realize they have an NHL franchise. Very big on Detroit music as well.
Attorney by trade, but film is my passion. Just completed my first indy film, "Catch A Rising Bullet" and am submitting it to film festivals. Email me for a link to the online preview.
Also producing a soundtrack album featuring some amazing undiscovered local bands.
I also have some music videos online. All VERY low budget but you might not know it from the way they look.
Needless to say - for films, I'm into supporting indy filmmakers everywhere, though honestly, some of it can be pretty bad at times.
Anything by Stanley Kubrick, Coen Brothers, Danny Boyle, Giuseppe Tornatore (Cinema Paradiso and other great films). I see every new Woody Allen film, usually not for the cinematography.
Also big on art house/European films.
I am the kind of guy who will accompany a date to a chick flick -but I have to be honest here... Films (and I use the term "film" loosely) such as Footloose and Dirty Dancing make me physically ill. Think of the lost potential for that film stock. Oh, the humanity.
Music: The bands featured in Catch A Rising Bullet. Moist Guitars, Butter, So Scared, Bamboo Grove, Pete Carney, Spanking Machine. Even Grammy winner Douglas Spotted Eagle and house music legend Marcus Mixx (who also appears in the film).
Other bands I like: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chili Peppers, Leonard Cohen, Tragically Hip, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Interpol, (I'll have to review my cd cabinet for a more complete listing),
Note: Absolutely love Nirvana but cannot stand Pearl Jam (and any other self important pretentious bands living their own myths.
Obsessed with the music of Thelonious Monk so kudos to anyone out there who knows that real Jazz is not played on Lite Jazz stations.
TV - Don't watch it. I know precious little about the current state of American television - except for Spongebob and Family Guy. I refuse to watch "reality TV". Why? I refuse to spend my life watching other people live theirs.
