Just moved to Dutchess County, NY outside of Poughkeepsie. It's a great area, and I'm looking to meet some new folks to hang with. I wasn't born or raised in New York or the northeast. I've pretty much either lived or have traveled all over the US. This helps broaden your perspective on people, and how they live and go about life.

I'm doing one of these sites just to see if they actually work. I've never done online dating until very recently, so we'll see if it leads to anything. It could be friendship, just dating for now, or maybe something special for the long term. Let me just start by saying no psychos, materialistic types, or anyone with a real nasty disposition. Sorry, had to get that out of the way.

I like making people laugh. I'm easy to get along with. I can talk, but also listen when I have to. I can be serious when needed, or a total wise ass, with a somewhat out there sense of humor. I can't help it. I like to laugh at stupid stuff sometimes. I guess that makes me a guy. I'm up for going out to dinner, drinks, concerts, any ballgame, hitting the Walkway or something outdoors, taking the train into the city, going to the movies, or just staying in and keeping it low key.

I work a lot during the week, thus my hours are somewhat odd, but always looking to unwind by the end of the week. I try to make every weekend count, and I'm just about always up for something new. My job is somewhat different, so if you're curious, just go ahead and ask. You may have already heard my voice somewhere, at some point! I own a ridiculous amount of CDs (yeah, I still haven't gotten stepped up on this whole Ipod thing yet). I like a wide range of music, outside of the Top 40 pop stuff, which I was never crazy about.

I'm a fan of the Boston Celtics and Washington Redskins, which makes for interesting conversation when you live in New York. I love watching the Major Leagues as well, though I never really established a favorite team.

We'll go with dinner and drinks. Someplace where we can talk and get to know each other, and see what we're into. I'm up for Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Thai, or just your everyday family restaurant. Or pizza...
