About Me
I recently returned to Duluth after going to the twin cities to finish my last two years of medical school (I was in Duluth for undergraduate and the first two years of medical school at UMD). I originally grew up in Saint Peter, MN and still have strong ties there since most of my family is still there. Throughout all my life family has come first and I would hope to find someone who understands my strong connection to my family.
I'm currently doing my residency in family medicine here in Duluth (starting with OB at Saint Mary's) and so far I'm really enjoying it. The hours are long, sometimes up to 30 hour shifts and 80 hours a week, but in the end it will be worth it knowing I'm well trained. I do have time to relax outside of work, and I take as much advantage of it as I can. Eventually I'd like to end up in a somewhat small-ish town (Duluth would be a good example of as "urban" as I'd like to be) practicing in a family medicine clinic and raising a family.
I'm also, honestly, kind of a geek. I built my first computer this last December, like to watch anime, and like to tinker around with electronics. Don't get me wrong, I can look just as sharp as the next guy and can fit in pretty well at a martini bar...so I guess I'm kind of a Jack-Of-All-Trades (a little of everything rolled into one). Oh, and my favorite shows to watch on TV are cartoons (I'm a kid at heart).
I'm big into the outdoors, my Dad introduced me to hunting and fishing when I was two or three and I've enjoyed them ever since. I also love to go camping, hike any trail, go for a casual bike ride, and even go rock climbing once in a while.
What I'm looking for in a match is someone who doesn't necessarily need to be out on the town (going to the bars or clubs) every week, someone that isn't afraid to get a little muddy/dirty, and isn't high-maintenance. I'm looking for someone who isn't serious all the time and is o.k. with a little sarcasm. She would also have to realize that at this point in my life I have a major time commitment with my residency and won't be able to go to events or do things all the time since I may have to be at the hospital.
I'm basically looking for someone to have some fun, and a relationship, with who is open to new things and not necessarily acting our ages all the time.
First Date
I'd prefer to do something where we could talk and get to know each other better (so movies, sporting events, concerts, etc would not be the first dates I would pick). Dinner and a walk, maybe playing some cribbage, going for some coffee/beer/wine (which ever you prefer, I like them all), or even just making smores over a campfire would be some good examples of what I'd think would be good for a first date.
