I'm a healthy, happy, fit and fun guy with a great attitude on life, regardless of whether things are up or down. I'm definitely young at heart and I thoroughly enjoy life. I am comfortable being on my own, Yet I've found lately that I really do miss sharing my life with someone special. While I'm looking to date, I'm open to more with the right person. That begins be taking time to get to know someone properly. I am forever the optimist and always concentrate on looking forward in life, never backwards! I am a good, yet easy going communicator and one comment I tend to get a fair bit is that I have a very calm demeanor and am very level headed. Humor definitely comes easy for me, both giving and receiving and I'm pretty good at getting the crowd laughing. I love many types of music including rock, blues, international and especially smooth jazz... many times, I love playing along with my guitars. I am a big softie when it comes to affection and I am quite generous in that regard with the right person, whether in public or private... I strongly believe that consistent attention to affection, romance, passion and intimacy is critical for any relationship.

I have a wonderful career that I love and a plan that is working for me. However, while I am ambitious and career driven, it's certainly not at the expense of the people I care most about. My time with them is important to me and I always strive to find balance between work and my personal life. I enjoy filling my life with activities that challenge me to explore and enjoy the world and I am definitely not a couch potato. I lead a pretty healthy life, but I'm not a health nut or a sports jock by any means. You will often find me enjoying activities like int'l travel, road trips, long walks or all out hiking, climbing, golf, tennis, water sports, canoeing/kayaking, climbing, biking, boating, dancing, etc., etc... But I have to say that winter skiing is my all-time favorite activity. I enjoy dining out, backyard BBQing, tossing the occasional pint with friends (though I don't think those can be classified as active pursuits). While I do love active pursuits, I equally enjoy quiet evenings at home curled up with someone special. Regardless of the activity however, I am most comfortable when I am able to share it with someone special.

The first date is all about finding an initial comfort level that will let you discover the person you're with before moving to the next step of actually getting to know them... That said, coffee or drinks for a first date are fine (many people's first choice), though I'm definitely open to something more active or exciting... But then again...you never know, some things are better left spontaneous!!!
