About Me
Here it goes..:
"Laughter is the shortest distance between two people."
Humor is essential to me, the ability to smile and laugh, you know? I'm very easy going, not into fighting but I do understand that disagreements can and will occur (You'd be surprised how speaking calmly and politely really catches off guard someone trying to pick a fight with you!)
I admire those who seek knowledge, to try new things and are always open minded so that we never stop learning and growing. I value the ability to appreciate small, ordinary things in life, to laugh at them, to stand and stare in awe of them, and to draw inspiration from them.
I adore learning and trying different martial arts, dances, or musical instruments, I'm mostly a kinesthetic learner and I like to keep myself a well-rounded person. I've trained in capoeira for two years, in that time i also learned some samba and Forro (pronounced fo-ho) which is pretty much Brazilian folk dance, all ya gotta do is two step and you're good. I've tried judo, tae kwon do, tai chi, and right now I'm doing muay thai. I took a swing lesson once which I really liked but i haven't been able to keep it up (Do you swing? Do you teach?) I've played guitar for almost ten years now and I play a little bass, piano, drums, and harmonica, but not all at once.. though that would be sweet..
I go to school full-time as an English major, I'm currently in my final year hoping to graduate with a Bachelor's in the fall, and I work part-time as a tutor of math and language arts for students between first and eighth grade. Kids, however brutally honest, can be remarkably intelligent and often hilarious, which leads me to want to eventually teach.. not just to teach, you find that if you spend enough time as a teacher or tutor, you're students start to teach you plenty about yourself!
As for religion, I was raised as a Roman-Catholic but I much prefer to learn as much as I can about all religions and beliefs around the world. I respect and admire the teachings of Jesus Christ, The Qur'an, and of The Buddha but I don't necessarily abide strictly by any one religion.
About you:
Quite simply, I would like someone I could laugh with. Someone confident, comfortable, and can laugh at herself, preferably going to school, though I do understand that a lack of a college degree doesn't necessarily mean uneducated.
I do ask that you be open-minded, I value a person who is willing to learn and try new things. I'm not looking for someone perfect, I much rather find someone imperfect who I can grow to see as perfect. Someone who inspires me without trying and (minus the monkey on her back) a part-time lover and a full-time friend (forgive the cheesiness, I love that movie)
I've really found that my best relationships started off as really good friendships, so we would need to be able to act as such. I would like to get to know your friends and I hope you would like to get to know mine, and I hope even more that we would all get along great!

Useless facts about me:
-I'm a big nerd, but don't tell anyone, especially about movies! I absolutely adore movies of all shapes and sizes, I won't even attempt to try and list genres or directors, I couldn't bring myself to leave anyone out. and I'm a sucker for a cheesy movie every now and again, whether it be a kung fu movie with bad dubbing and visible wires, or a predictable, yet comforting chick flick. -When I was a kid my biggest dream was to be a voice-over actor, and though I would rarely admit it, I still very much enjoy doing voices much to the entertainment of my roommates.
First Date
As mentioned earlier, there is little more important to me than somebody with a similar sense of humor, so a comedy show should do nicely. After, I would really prefer something simple where the both of us could just talk and get to know each other.
