About Me
In my own words??? Well, okay, let’s see…inhale (big breath)…and begin…I am an intelligent, witty, sociable, energetic, humourous, grounded, considerate, passionate, affectionate, articulate, attractive and humble (of course!) individual who loves chocolate (an essential food group), red wine (another food group), cats (not a food group), and dogs (definitely not a food group)…PANT, GASP WHEEZE…I enjoy golfing (hence the humble part), canoeing, hiking, biking, being by the water, sunrises, sunsets, bonfires and the morning mist on a lake…WHEEZE, GASP, WHEEZE…I prefer summer over winter, my favourite colour is red, my favourite holiday is Christmas and…did I mention that I love chocolate???
What else??? Hmmmm...well, I like to stay in shape (or at least I try to) but I'm not obsessed with hanging out at the gym...I believe that there is a vast difference between vanity and taking pride in one's appearance...I enjoy a lively conversation, a friendly debate and not being limited to the recent sports' scores...I'm not a real sports buff but I am a die-hard HABS fan (oops, did I say that last part out loud??? LOL)...public displays of affection (not to be confused with a public grope!) are wonderful and are simply a way to show that you care...I truly believe in living life to the fullest, from its simplest pleasures to its most highly charged moments and...did I mention that I LOVE chocolate???
Major Dislikes: Liars, CROCS, the LEAFS, Black Licorice, Eggplant and CROCS. I've listed CROCS twice 'cuz I really, really hate them. Don't be wearing them on our first date...unless you are bringing me chocolate!!! :-)
Basically, I am hoping to meet someone I enjoy being with on a regular basis. My interests are varied as I enjoy most activities. I especially enjoy being outdoors during the warmer months. This would include anything from golfing to hiking or simply enjoying a glass of wine under the stars. If it’s with the right person, it’s all good.
Whew!!! Well, that’s enough about me (must keep some mystique!). Besides, it’s time to let an interesting man tell me about himself.
If I have piqued your interest, drop me a line. Better still...send chocolate!!!
Thanks for dropping by!
IMPORTANT NOTICE: I happen to enjoy dating guys who are around my age, give or take a few years at either end. If you didn't know that Paul McCartney was in a band PRIOR to "Wings", you are too young for me (NOTE: If you do know but only because you bought the latest version of XBOX Rock Band, that doesn't count!). If you don't even know who Paul McCartney is, I probably have socks that are older than you!!! :-)
AND ONE MORE THING - Dec 7, 2009: I've listed "guitar" under my interests. That doesn't mean I know how to play. I've just recently bought an accoustic guitar (call it an early Christmas gift to me or one less item in my "bucket list"!!!). Next step...LESSONS!!! :-)
First Date
What we would do on a first date is really not so important. It could be meeting for a drink or a coffee, dinner, a walk in the park, etc. What is important is that we talk and get to know each other, share a few laughs and, hopefully, ignite that elusive "spark". A great date is where you hear that little voice inside of you say "WOW!".
UPDATE: I've noticed on a significant number of profiles that people insist on referring to the first encounter as a "meeting" and not a "date". Call it a "blind date" if you must but a DATE is a DATE. Don't make it sound so cold and analytical by referring to it as a "meeting". That first encounter should be fun and pressure-free. It is merely an opportunity for two people to meet and see if there is anything more. Geez, if I wanted a "meeting", I would just go to work!!! LOL
