Added thought: I respond to EVERY email I get - regardless of whether or not I'm interested in the person. It is only polite and courteous to do so. After all they took the time to send you the email - so what harm is it to write back something - if only a one-liner. It only takes about 15 seconds. So please - if I email you I would hope that you would extend the same courtesy.

It would depend on the chemistry established beforehand and the personality. If someone is a bit more cautious, then meeting for coffee/hot chocolate might be something more comfortable for them. If the vibe is a good one, and the person is a bit adventurous and willing to take a chance, then the possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!
