I am outgoing by nature and take risks emotionally to get close to people. You do not get the benefits of intimacy without risking the hurt, that is just life. I love people and am genuinely interested in the stories of their lives. Not one of us get out of this life without getting knocked around a few times [or many times!!!] but dwelling on it is not a good thing.

I am a professional clinical social worker and recently moved back to the city where i grew up after my son became self sufficient. [spelling errors must be forgiven, i cannot spell and gave up long ago - life is too short to get serious about spelling!!!] i like to have several irons in the fire so i do not get bored. i am an outpatient therapist, have a regular social worky job, and am a field instructor for both bachelor and master level interns, I may teach a class, I volunteer at the Art Institute. I love many things and like to stay busy but I always save time especially on weekends for family and friends.

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT LIKES TO PLAY BACKGAMMON? I lose a lot but I just love that game! I just cannot find anyone to play with me and tournament backgammon is intimidating!

I am an excellent and creative story teller and love to write for fun, and so….in this format I am extremely chatty!

For fun I enjoy going out with friends, visiting big water, listening to Jazz live, watching comedy, reading murder mysteries, and any creative endeavor that might strike my fancy. I enjoy playing board and card games. I am a liberal (social worker) and enjoy political talk sometimes and just shooting the bull at other times. Intelligence is important to me and I need to be with people who like conversation but can tolerate quiet times also. I am a Mensa member but not an intellectual snob, high intelligence is an abnormality of sorts leaving one to need to pay special attention to social morays that do not always come naturally. The most important matching personality aspect is humor, I need to be able to laugh about life.

Please please please, if you are too serious about yourself please please talk to someone else!!! I hate getting verbally beaten up because I am not serious enough. I deal with serious issues all day every day, here, I want to have fun with open minded individuals who care about others and like to laugh. The mensa thing can throw people off, it does not mean I think I am so much smarter than others. I like to talk to people that are intelligent or at least can fake it well!!

I do not like playing games that everyone is not aware is a game. Just be real and genuine, that is all I ask.

On a first date I prefer to do something that allows for conversation. I do not need to be impressed by a nice restaurant - though that is nice - I like an art museum or interesting place that has things to look at and learn about while getting to know someone elses interests, likes, dislikes, etc.
