About Me
I'm here looking for that rare breed of people that live life learning about everything around them, every waking moment; the wide open-minded, the perceptive, the aware, the natural stoics and good-hearted individuals who are trying to make a difference in the world. I've met only a few, but I know you're out there! If you have a passion for living, for virtue, for knowledge and growth and loving and respecting the world we live in, then please apply :)
And a good sense of humour helps!
I don't care what background you are, what language you speak, or where in the world (or universe) you are from. Earth is, in my personal experience, a very small place that takes only hours to physically traverse, and only a fraction of a moment to communicate across. Language itself is but a fleeting barrier that, anyways, is always a pleasure to overcome. If someone is worth the negligable effort required, rest assured I'm willing to make it.
A few quick, odd facts about me:
-Almost always learning or thinking. Love meeting people that I can share it with. -I study international economics and development, and I'm particularly interested in social and human capital, as well as sustainable development. -Quadrilingual. Goal is to hit 12 before I die, but at this rate I expect to far surpass my ambition... insh'allah -Have studied, at some point, English, French, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German, Arabic, and Latin, but I dont speak most of them, yet! -Spartan -Independent -Stoic -I speak German to my German Shepherds. Figured it was worth a try to see if they'd listen any better... they don't. :P -Semi-nomadic (definitely NOT sedentary) -Lacking any sense of materialism (except for books! And food!) -Books do in fact make up the vast majority of my earthly possessions. When I travel, I miss my dog Charlie and my books. -My dog Charlie is definitely one of my best and most loyal friends, and probably one of the most virtuous and praiseworthy individuals I have the pleasure of knowing.
Things I avoid like the plague:
-Consumerism and excessive materialism -Illogic -Voluntary ignorance -Dissimulation -Dishonesty -Cats, (one and only allergy) -Tobacco -Heavy drugs -Obnoxious, arrogant, or bellicose animals (humans are typically the worst offenders) -Needless violence -Blind Faith -Bad drunks -Inordinate aesthetic preocupations (yet I do admit I find dating difficult without both physical and intellectual attraction... ) -the widespread belief that its OK to contribute in no way whatsoever to the sum total of human knowledge -unrealized potential!
First Date
Ideal first date:
Good chemistry and deep conversation... the rest, well, they're just details.
