Hmm a lil about me,,, Ok where do I to start,,, well first my name is Rod and I've been living in Orange County for the last 12 years and Huntington Beach for last 7 months or so, originally coming from Chi-town, Illinois. I'm a graduate of the University of Illinois majoring in Journalism and video production. After college, I worked as a photojournalist for two years in Chicago covering the Bulls, Bears, White Sox and Cubs as well as concerts and other news events. Since then, I moved to sunny Southern California where I've been shooting for the OC Register. I've continued to cover professional sports while covering a plethora of other OC happenings. I've also developed as a video journalist shooting for the publication's website. This is for sure a different avenue for me, but thought the change would be good for the experience. So for now, at this point it seems to be working in my favor. I finally made it to senior photographer level this past year, and hope to continue my success.
On a more personal level, I am about 6' 5" with a football linebackers body. I love to dance (and have been told I can move well to be a big boy ;-D) and travel (at least, twice a year to Chicago to experience the seasons and more importantly to visit my home town and family). I live a spontaneous lifestyle, hang at the beach, movies and most of all, romancing my woman…
I feel that I'm ole school to the heart due to my up bringing. My siblings are from the OLD SCHOOL (all three of them being at least 10 years older than I) and have instilled that way of life in me from a young age. I am extremely grateful to them, because it reflects in my lifestyle and how I choose my friends and the people that I want close to me. Most of all, my mother taught me how to be a gentle man. Watching my siblings relationships growing up I come to believe there are a few simple key elements to maintaining a solid and true heart filled relationship. Communication being one of the most important, because it leads to trust and understanding, Honesty can be said in the same breath as communicating, because trust dies without it. Being friends most of all follows right in stride, because being close tight friends will create a solid companionship for both partners' interests in life rather it be professional, or in hobbies, sports etc. Also, I think two partners should have things that they enjoy and spend time doing as individuals which adds context, texture and depth to their time together.

Things on my bucket list include: learn to fly a helicopter, travel to Brazil, Japan, Rome, Africa, Jamaica, the moon, write and produce a hip hop opera, go skydiving and parasailing.


Musically, you can probably guess if you read the interests section I like hip hop, rap, and r&b. Can't go wrong with reggae either. What you probably couldn't guess is that I like music from Broadway and off Broadway shows. Some of my favorites are the music from Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd, Evita and The King and I.

On a first date, I would make you laugh out loud and have a conversation you won't soon forget.
