Hi all, I'm looking for a more one-on-one focus to build a friendship first. I believe in making a solid foundation before jumping in, lest we hit our head on something!

Ok, I guess I need to write about me..

Along with being content with my life, I'm independent and self-sufficient. I have a good job, live comfortably and come home to a quiet home.

Being an observer, I learn from listening and watching. I'm a quick study and have a weird imagination. I often thinking about the heavy stuff: space, God, weights. I like to socialize with mature groups of people and have a few laughs. I'm sort of an oddball in that I'm perfectly fine with joking dirty and yet I have a set of morals I like to keep. I'll get crazy but I'm always in control of myself, to the point I've never been drunk before. I'm all about having a clear conscious and never holding a grudge. To me, fretting about the small stuff that won't matter later on is just a waste of energy. Instead, you'd find me smiling and seeing the good in each day. A clear mind is telling it straight, instead of avoiding a potentially damaging problem.

You'll find me working out on my home gym off and on. Casual bodybuilding is one of my hobbies. I wish I started long before I did, I look and feel great!

My childhood was not perfect as typical, but I did have an upbringing that has forged me into a good and strong person. I hope to find someone that will recognize and appreciate that. There was a lot I had to learn for myself.

During the warmer months, I like to be outside doing activities with family and friends. Winter usually means I'm trying my best to stay indoors, probably on my home gym, visiting friends/family or killing time on the computer. Activities I could imagine doing with my partner would be stuff like raquetball, hiking, biking or just taking time relaxing on the couch. It doesn't matter as long as its fun for the both of us. I love movies as much as the other person, but I wouldn't want my partner to be too much of a couch potato.

Financially, I'm debt and stress-free. I have God to thank for that. He has answered my prayers 9 years ago and I will never forget that. Being responsible has enabled me to focus in other areas in my life, such as health, travel and eventually higher education. Regardless of my situation, I place more value on the nonmaterial things, such as family, well-being and just having a good day.

I'm happy in the person I've become, but enjoy learning and improving. If you also have a healthy self-image, that's great because that is very attractive to me. More importantly, you must be a good communicator, I'd like to hear what you have to say. I'm bored of dates that don't participate. Thanks for reading!

Note: I know a lot of you are single mothers out there, kudos for staying strong and doing your best as a single parent. While I probably would not go long term with you, I'd never turn away a good friend. I just don't think I could always be 2nd place in a relationship, it doesn't fit into the heirarchy of a family that I seek.

Debatable, but I think first dates should be short and sweet, no pressure. Then if we survive the first date, more distractions can be added subsequently.
