UPDATE:

I’m looking for a dance partner, someone to come out dancing with me. My prime requirement is a desire to go out dancing, not skill. I’ve only been taking my lessons since the spring, I love it. I’d like to be out dancing all weekend, you don’t have to be there every night, but you’re welcome to join me. I prefer social dances and there are quite a few places to go dancing in the area. But if you like to go clubbing we can go from time to time.


One of the most common things I read on ladies profiles here is they are looking for a man that ‘knows what he wants’

It’s prompted me to give some serious thought to what I want in a woman I might meet here. As I tell you about what I want, I’ll explain why, it will give you some insight into me.

I’m looking for a woman who wears many hats, each in turn, some can be worn at the same time. Are any more important that the others? No, but they are all necessary. Let me tell you about those hats:

Companion: First and foremost I am looking for a lady to share my time with. It’s not a matter of need, it’s a choice. I want a lady to do things with, to go out with, to stay in with, to sit and talk to. A lady who it just feels comfortable being with her.

Dance Partner: In the spring of 2009 I started taking dancing lesssons. The only regret I have in life is that I didn't start taking the lessons 10 years ago when I first thought about it. I’m looking for someone to take out dancing, dancing is my latest passion, it gets me through the dull part of my day, it puts a smile on my face, a smile so huge you’ve no way to understand it till you experience it for yourself. Now don’t think you need to be a pro, and don’t think about it too much, ask these questions: Do you know how to dance? Do you watch dancing with the stars and wish you could dance like that? If you answer yes, then I’ll take you out dancing. I’m taking the lessons already, you’re welcome to come out and have fun with me. Ask me what dances I know… I love to talk about dancing.

Outdoor friend: I like to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Hiking, camping, stargazing, exploring waterfalls, picnics and wildlife watching. There are little ‘pockets of paradise’ all over the place, you don’t have to go too far to be away from it all and it puts a smile on your face and lightens your spirit. And they are sooo much better with someone to share them with.

Play friend: I like to play games in a social environment. The game is an excuse to gather people together to talk, laugh and otherwise have fun. The simpler the game, the more social the game is. What kind of games: darts is good, pool, I try so it’s only if you can carry me. Cards are great in the winter time, I love to play cards.

Healthy life style Advocate: I joined Jenny Craig Last September, I weighed in at 187, now I’m battling with the 150 mark. I’m aiming for 135. I love it, Jenny was the best thing I ever did. I’ve more energy yet I sleep better. I eat better, tastier and more often… yet I lose weight. And my contentment factor is off the scale. I’m not starving all the time. Best thing I ever did. So why do I need an advocate? I want someone who’s on the same page as me, someone who’s supportive of a healthy lifestyle, not someone who’s going to simply offer me temptation. I’m not saying I’m looking for a Barbie doll, far from it (you can ask me what I mean by that if you want), it’s the attitude that’s important to me.

Lover: Yes chemistry is important, I’m a romantic, I’m sensual, and my sexuality is very important part of my life. Expect an email or a voice mail that’s only purpose is to put a smile on your face. No it’s not wimpy, I want you to feel good, and I can do that from work if I just take a moment. I’m also a touchy feely kind of guy, if I can’t keep my hands off you, I likely won’t… yet I can still keep it PG13, I’m not a total pig. And yes, I agree, when watching a movie from home, there’s only one way to do that, wrapped up with each other.

Good company and good conversation are what a first date are all about for me.

How does this sound for a couple of ideas.

Coffee at Coffee Cultures. I’ve a sweet tooth that won’t stop so desert is a good possibility too. COFFEE INTERVIEW DISCLAIMER: First of all, I prefer to sit either by the fireplace or in the big round booth that seats 6 but its cozy for two. And I’ve also been known to take my lady from the table for a dance class. Going for coffee is not a coffee interview.

Do you work in downtown Burlington? I take my lunch down at the lake, but now that it’s too cold I’ll be going to the greenhouse at the Burlington Art Center for lunch, come join me.

A walk out through one of my little pockets of paradise. We’ll fill a thermos and maybe pack a snack too.

After we get to know each other, I’ll take you out dancing. Not clubbing, out to a dance. No point in going somewhere we have to yell at each other to be heard, not going to get to know each other that way. We can go out dancing at the clubs if we want, after we get to know each other.

Again, after we get to know each other a bit, how about going out to the look out after dark to look at the city lights.
