During the last few years I've moved around a lot, and knowing that I'd be moving again soon didn't pursue many relationships. My family went boating a lot in the Puget Sound and San Juans, which I always enjoyed, so as a kind of spur of the moment decision I decided to move up here and see what happens. So far things have been going well as far as my professional life goes, but I feel like there's a void in my life where a partner should be. Ultimately I'm looking for a woman who wants to walk through life hand in hand with me and share the experiences this world has to offer.

I'm somewhat of an intellectual and like almost anything that's done well. I listen to everything from death metal to country depending on the mood. I like to read Fantasy novels, especially Robin Hobb's work, but enjoy some of the classics as well...not just because they're amazingly well written, but because they give you a glimpse of what people were like in different countries and ages. I like watching movies and some TV shows, but mostly from HK/Japan/Korea. They have a lot of amazing directors. That said, Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen are two of my favorite shows right now and I like trying to emulate the cooking. Also, I watch the Daily show and Colbert Report almost every day, though I'm more of a libertarian than a liberal.

The outdoors beckon and I've always enjoyed hiking and camping. I've never done the hardcore carry-everything-in-a-backpack type camping, but definitely don't need showers and flush toilets to be happy.

Being on or in the water is a big part of my life. Currently I have the use of a small sailboat on hood's canal and enjoy going out sailing for a weekend. However, I'm looking forward to eventually having my own boat. I haven't been SCUBA diving in a while and really want to get back into it. Maybe you could be my dive buddy? I enjoy crabbing, clamming, shrimping, and would like to try spear fishing some day.

I'm looking for a woman who's first and foremost smart and witty. If you can trip me up, prove me wrong, or otherwise knock my feet out from me during an intelligent conversation, you'll win me over quickly. I like women who will challenge me: in a fun and clever way, not in a negative way. If she has some interesting hobbies of her own that would be ideal. I'm always interested in learning new things, and I also think it's healthy for each person to have some hobbies that are just their own.

Someone who likes the outdoors and is at least willing to try out sailing is a must. Do you think you'd enjoy spending a few days alone with your boyfriend/husband on a boat anchored out in a remote bay? Just talking, crabbing, fishing, messing around in the dinghy, reading, exploring the area, experimenting with new recipes, and doing lots of cuddling? If yes, I might just be who you're looking for.

I'd prefer meeting at a park or something like that, where we can talk a bit more openly and privately and really get to know each other.
